Show us what ur stock rbv is capable of

P1011140.jpg

Guess which gets used as a "TRUCK" on a regular basis? It ain't the one w/ the chrome!

People (outside of the Rangerheads like us) don't realize what these little trucks are really capable of. They're like the Leathermen or Buck knife you keep in your back pocket. You never know when they''ll be useful.

I havent had any friends here to tow me out yet, so I havent pushed it, but in two wheel drive I got stuck in my back grass in Knoxville in the rain.....:-( Other than that it seems the onyl thing to really stick our rigs is getting high centered. If ford would build a ranger with the humvee manner of ground clearance, we would rule all!

what are we considering stock? 1.5 coil spacer up front and some sot so great 31's and a welded rear...to me thats what i call stock

most importantly, ive got the driver mod :D

We couldn't get my bosses dually to the planter because the field was too muddy....... pallet of beans on a bone stock 2000 4x4 ext cab..... through a gauntlet of ditches and fields that were nothing but mud. (we couldn't plant the low-lands, but there was 100 acre field that was plantable beyond)

I have pictures i can email of it to someone from my phone for posting of that truck with 40 square bales stacked on the back and my 85 year old boss driving it. (we were using it because the chevy pulling the hay wagon got burried up in the field 3 times) That truck has 100k miles and has never left the farm, talk about taking abuse.

We pull 3 round bales at a time with it, annhydrous tanks, nitrogen water tanks and feed cattle in it daily. (one fog light was kicked out by a cow, and the bed is slightly caved in where a bull hit it) but it's as solid as a rock. btw...... it's only ever had A/T tires on it (my boss wants the ride quality, lol)

And mine has a stock Lima with 183k to boot!

Man! Never count out a 4-banger Ranger (Same motor as you, just backed by a 5-speed & 4x4!), espeaclly if the driver knows how to use the power & torque he has effetivly!

No pics, but yesterday I drove through a rutted snow drift on some back roads. I saw a fullsize K-body 4x4 chev on 35's get stuck in the exact same drift the weekend before. He just applied more and more gas and eventually slipped out of the ruts into the deeper snow.

Last night, I figured I'd try it myself. I didn't have a buddy with me to tow me out (just a shovel and my hands) so I was a little apprehensive. But none-the-less, I put it in low range and first gear, and just let the truck crawl through the drift (the drift was about 200ft long). I didn't have to touch the gas once. I'm pretty sure I was rubbing floor boards at one point, but my little stock ranger made it through no problem.

Just like with the ladies, it's not about what you have, but how you use it!

I don't think it's an RBV, but here's a buddy of mine in a stock Exploder climbing up a pretty tough hill. I had trouble with my 33 BFG AT's.

My favorite:

Explorers are RBV's. They share many of the same parts in the dash & drivetrain, as well as some sheetmetal from the firewall forward.

The white truck is my 97 5spd 2wd. She's pushing 230k miles. I had her out in a field after a good rain feeding cattle, I wasn't stuck, but I'm not going to say a wasn't dumping the clutch in 4th gear and rapping out the exhaust. One picture is it beside a fertilizer spreader at CPS, (my stock rbv can look really cool beside an awesome piece of IH equipment)

The red truck is my bosses stock 2000 auto 4x4. We work the living hell out of that truck, the hay wagons kept getting hung up so we had to clear an entire field one ranger load at a time. I was stacking, fun fun, with an 85 year old man driving.

is that your exhaust coming out of the bedside on pic 3? if so that is a pretty cool idea

Yes 86 Slo Vo's exhaust is coming out of the bedside.......

He likes the single dump. I vote single exhaust sucks.... but it's kinda cute.
