My credo
Clean your room before you criticise the world.
I talking about the rona.

Should the state just butt out and let us do as we please. Or step in and force people to stay separate and all that.

If you agree then why and if you don't then why?
And do you honestly think it's gonna make a difference what the state does when I comes to the spread of it?

I only ask cause ohio is contemplating another shut down. Which our local businesses couldnt afford anyway.

you're gonna find some hot tempers on both sides of this.

I don't mind doing something because it's good sound advice, but,,,

WHEN THE GOVERNMENT FORCES ME TO DO IT THEY CAN SHOVE IT UP WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE.

I'm imposing a rule that everyone needs to wear a facemask in the forum.

If I pop in real quick, can I just pull my shirt up over my mouth and nose?

Sure. You can leave it down if you promise not to exhale.

Your state is averaging 30 deaths per day from the virus, yet you do not want to follow govt instructions to avoid this.
If an unknown entity, in your state, every day, randomly set off a bomb that killed 30 people everyone would be outraged. Every day this entity sets off another bomb at random, and another 30 people die.
Everyone would be looking to stop this entity, sparing no expense in time or money or manpower, and every citizen would be looking for this entity.
Yet, now you know this entity, yet you refuse or fight guidelines that would possibly stop this entity.
Sometimes, many times the govt has to force something because many people are too stupid or too stubborn to do what's right for the benefit for the majority .

I do think they should leave it to our own discretion. Too bad it wasnt a year we coulda voted deswine out of office. I just started another job 3 weeks ago (still on layoff from my other job-since july 3) this new job is alot cleaner than what im used to but is alot less money and hours, not bringing home much more than unemployment was paying, but I gotta do something otherwise I will sit around browsing ebay and draining my little savings for projects I cant really be doing this time of the year anyhow. I see it that at the end of the day we are responsible for ourselves, I feel being told “what to do” is more of a reason to not do something, for example I dont wear a seat belt. My choice- dont care if it is a “law”. twice I would of been in a bad place if I did have one on. Sure it might be the death of me some day , but its still my call. I really dont feel the government knows what its talking about, and as far as science- well the “big bang theroy” (creation of earth-evolution, not the tv show) is bullshit, Guess there are no “sceinentists” who beilive in God or who have read the bible. So I dont hold much stock in what they have to say. The bigger question is why has china not been shunned over this? I feel they were working on a biological weapon and let the bat out of the cave. Ironically alot of these masks you see in stores came from china along with all the other junk. And then theres the media- adding the fuel (fear) to the fire. More testing-more results. Im sure if they did mass testing for herpes they would think there is a epidemic of that too. Well I need to shut up now, Ive probably banged on the hornet nest too much. I mean no disrespect to anyone- just a few random thoughts from my rambling mind.

Unless money can be made on it, then we just let it happen. Half a million deaths annually from tobacco.

And the products are still on the shelves.....

And people in Ohio (and other states) die from plenty of things that are preventable - we shrug and go on.

Digging through all the reports / analysis of studies relating to mask use (I really do read them, not just the conclusions) would suggest out of the 30 deaths per day in Ohio, mask usage might lower that to 28 or 29 a day. It won't lower it to zero. Guaranteed.

I’ve heard this morning about one or more states trying to mandate masks in your own home. I haven’t verified it and it’s not where I live. I believe that is going way too far. First of all, how do they think they’ll enforce that? Second, why do I need to wear a mask in my own house or even outside on my property if I’m more than 6 ft away from anyone else?
I’ll wear my mask at the store. I wear it at work when I can’t social distance. But at home, leave me alone.

If "common sense" really was common we wouldn't need regulations. I wear a mask indoors if I'm going to be close to people to protect them in case I'm infected and don't know it. No, I don't like it, but it might help and it doesn't cost me anything.

ill never call any one dumb or " too stupid" as stated above. we all have different opinions and thats great. me personally... just have more questions rather than statements. also wearing a mask is the least of my "worries".

small businesses shutting down while target and walmart stay open? being able to eat inside a tent as long as its outside but not being able to eat inside a building? hair dressers not being able to cut one persons hair at a time with masks on, but is able to go to dinner with that very same person and eat with no mask?

ultimately my question is: if masks work, why are businesses and schools shut down? if they dont, why are we being forced to wear them?

please review my second sentence. to clarify I'm advocating shoving the "authority", not the mask.

Bingo. And also why are there no standards for what the mask has to be made out of? Wouldn't it make sense that if an N95 is 'better' at preventing transmission, that we would only allow ourselves out in public with an N95? By the way, if you haven't had the opportunity to wear one of those all day, try it. NOT fun and very difficult to breathe in.

The entire mess looks to me to be more of a placebo, than anything else, in regards to masks.

Masks don’t stop you from getting or spreading the disease... but they help.
Breathing out - Masks (real ones, not those stretchy, paper thin neck gators that they’re marketing as “more breathable”. Those are pretty much useless.) slow the speed at which saliva is expelled from your mouth. That means it’s less atomized and doesn’t hang in the air as long or travel as far.
Breathing in - Think of it like an air filter on your car. It allows air to get in, but not someone else’s exhaled saliva... well most of it.
None of it is fool-proof. Masks don’t magically protect you from Covid. The reasons above, plus the 6’ distance HELPS. Even if you completely don’t believe in any of it... using the logic listed above, tell me which secario sounds less likely to spread a virus...
2 people standing 2’ apart talk to each other, or 2 people standing 6’ apart, both wearing masks while having a conversation.
