well im gonna trade my 1989 ranger "pre-runner", 1982 POS s10 and $800 for a 1997 beamed 4.0l ranger (auto tranny :bawling:). im gonna do it tonight but i just want your opinions on this

judging by your current vehicles i think your getting the better end of the deal, but how many miles? tires ok? is it in nice shape? it clean?

I voted no. Try to finaggle out of losing the 89. Give him the dime and the greenbacks and go from there, then you'll have started a collection

the main reason he is trading is for the ranger. its a poor excuse of a truck n e ways

its 2wd ext. cab... Plus its a 4.0l v6. i figure in a year or two i could either trade it for a manual or do a manual swap if thats cheap enough

that "prerunner" is like death...

looks good from the avatar. but...

i say find a good 89 body style ranger.. swap out the glass fenders onto the "new" one, and the stocks on the "prerunner" then sell the prerunner..

then you'd have a fresh start on a prerunner w/ the fenders. just do a 4.0 swap. 5 speed... and build it..

too late the guy is gunna be here in half an hour... p.s. what 5 speed trannys bolt up to the 4.0? m50d-r1?

2.9 and 4.0's have same bolt pattern i think...

2.9's md05 has a lower gear for the first couple gears w/ the same final gear... so that'd give you a lower 1st! of course, someone correct me if i'm wrong. i'm assuming the 97(?) 4.0 has the same bolt pattern as mine.. i'm not for sure.

Get that frickin ranger!!!!! Such a good deal so you can have a nice reliable vehicle, now don't trash the new one
