Should I sell my Ranger?

uhh

if you love your toyota so much go get on that forum and stop saying stupid shit on our FORD forum genius!:nono:

Also!

who ever called us ranger faggots your an idiot, i can answer why he isn't on a Toyota forum and its prolly cause they kicked his ass out for being dumb, not even they could take his stupidity!!!!!!!:thefinger:

ok Nova so you had a lemon, that doesn't mean every other Ranger on the road is one. I had a 91 2wd before I got my '03 and yes the 91 was deffinately a lemon. the poor thing was also abused to no end by the two previous owners, did I hold that against the rest of the RBV's?? Nope sure didn't and never will. on the other hand my '03 was pampered and very well maintained, runs like top!! 86ford has a 20sum years B2 that he isn't the nicest to and it runs great!

bottom line is sometimes life gives ya a lemon, but it's up to you to make the lemonade. or you could just let your lemon rot.

back on topic now. if it was me and I put that much work into a truck (non brand specific) I would keep it. just my .04 worth (got to account for inflation ya know)

Wow so which moderator will it be to ban Nova? Dude you bought a non running Ranger, tried to fix it, and eventually gave up. There is no way in hell you can even remotely compare the reliability of that Ranger (which you tried to repair) to the reliability of a Yota that you bought in good working order (which you haven't tried to repair). Can't wait to see what happens when that Yota stops working and you start wrenching on it. A vehicle is only as good as it's owner/maintainer/driver and obviously you ain't that good.

FWIW I've got two Rangers, my folks have a Ranger, Taurus, F-250, and F-100. There are very few things we'd think about giving any of them up for and each of them are Fords. When it comes to my '84 and the F100 they ain't going anywhere, and yes I've had good offers on both. Dad loves his F-250 and they need it for pulling the camper. I'd consider trading my 99 but it'd have to be a nice older gen Ranger W/ V8, 4x4, AC, extended cab, lift, manual transmission and cash, but since I'm not likely to find that looks like the 99 is staying.

I think anything older then 1995 is way more reliable then almost anything new(except the rust part because as we all know new cars are now made out of plastic and stuff). Point because both my Ranger and my f250 have been more reliable and more capable then our 03 subaru which needed a new engine after 45,000 miles with no rough driving what so ever and the new engine started knocking with regular oil changes. Our new 07 saturn sucks at anything but getting good gas milege. My friends 98 f150 always has something wrong with it. My other freind has a 98 tacoma and has the worst luck with it this year alone it has gone through 2 engines and atleast 10 trips apart from the engine swap to the shop for maitnence work. Then the old chevy 1500 we had had no problems except for a blinking parking brake light and below 20 mpg gas milage it was a 94'. Then our 92' dodge dynasty was the best car except the computer would short out every couple of years.

So i would say no to the toyota because it might have a new engine and I personally don't know anyone who has had good experiences from any new car. If you could find the older toyotas like 70's - 80's maybe some 90's that would be a good choice because there are almost as many early toyotas around here as rangers/bII's. (thay are all rusted out here but no one cares we all use them to launch boats anyway.

When I bought my Titan this year I kept the Ranger but sold the Honda Accord that I had put a good amount of performance mods on. I loved the Accord more but it was also worth more $$$. For nasty conditions (deep snow) the Ranger is a lot more fun to drive. If I mess it up it isn't a big deal. If I mess up the Titan its going to cost money because it HAS to be repaired. The only downsizes are that it's not real attractive and it has to be parked on the street.

Hey Nova I had a long ass rant wrote out. But my lazy uneducated ass got sick of typing so I just summed it up to tell you.

WOW you bought another truck good for you. But just like when I gave my nephew my sho I stopped hanging out at the sho forum. may be you should do the same o ya you can blow me about the grammer. thank you and have a nice day.

Wow now I feel like I should be in the special olympics even if I win this argument, I'll still be retarded. O well theres still Ice cream.

Wow, are you really trying to argue ford vs toy on a ford forum?

Regardless of your opinion, you've got to admit that wasn't the best idea

But then again pissing matches can be entertaining

go for it

guys come on.....you should know better than to argue with an idiot, all he will do is drag you down to his level and beat you with expiriance....

nova....please take your yota and leave us rbv guys alone......

and dont reproduce, there are enough morons out there and you dont need to make any more!!!!

How do you know I am not joking with you guys?

predator...I am welcome here just as much as you. So, why don't you leave then...does that make any sense? Would you like me to say it again in an easier form or are you actually going to read it?

first off i did not see the *oh sorry guys im just arguing for entertainment's sake* remark in your post, you posted as i was typing.

second, you are probaly violating the terms and service rules of TRS, cant say for sure but then again when the mods take a look at this thread we will see now wont we??

3rd, i think you should yell into the speaker of your computer really loud, i might hear you better.

Man, if you are saying the 22r/re engine is something toyota did right, I need to point out a few things.

How about the oil pressure timing chain tensioner? Every start up the thing sounded like rod bearings in a blender, parts grinding to hell until oil pressure built up.

In order to remove the timing chain cover, you had to remove THE CYLINDER HEAD. That's right, pins in the cover wouldn't allow you to remove the cover because of those pins without raising the head up.

And fuel mileage? The last 22r I had with a 5 speed manual got 20. TWENTY. That's it. A small light ricer getting 20, which my '02 4.0 auto Ranger beats on a regular basis with probably three times the power.

Not saying Toyota is junk, but the 22r engine was not that great of an engine. The manual tranny hooked to it lost brearings and would grenade kinda quick too...

Toyota parts can be high as well. Your choice. You can get a lemon in either one quite frankly.

I think it is about time we got back onto the original topic. If you want to insult each other take it up in a PM. This guy asked a question and some of us have answered it with a bunch of insults and low blows.

Please clean it back up and move on.
