Shocks on the motor?


I guess if its still and dry, you can tolerate it fairly well. Ive had guys come down from Fairbanks and get hit with 29 degrees (-1c to 0c) and somehow its still liquid rain. they say its colder in that situation, with the sea spray and wind, than a still -50.

That is just another thread--like this one. All speculatation.

It may or may not be the reason, but it's small and has no way to get rid of heat so that's one reason I think it's meant for a much more infrequent event. Generally they slap a big round weight on when they are trying to dampen a vibration.

Also, the 4.0 doesn't idle roughly. It has a lot more torque than the engine it replaced so it stands to reason it twists a lot harder and they were trying to tame it.
