Wanted Shift linkage

We ( @85_Ranger4x4 )went over this a on another tread a week or two ago. I’m open to learning so here we go. I see there are at least two different shapes. One being 90degree dog legged and the other being just offset. The question being are they interchangeable. I have one of each in the barn all on vehicles they came with.
89 original FM146 swapped to a M5OD. Shifter from the FM146

85 A4LD

85 FM145

Both the 146 and A4LD are the offset type the FM145 is doglegged.

Enlighten me.

Look at the lengths of them.....

Plus, the A4LD linkage actually says “A4LD” on it. It looks similar, but is in fact different.

The C5 linkage (very rare these days) is close to the FM145 but is a different length as well.

Measured from end of fork to pivot bolt
FM145 =3”
FM 146 on M50D = 5 3/8
A4LD =5 3/8

Over all, basically is it a rod that connects to the carb and has some bends in it, or is it a cable through a bracket?

Yes, I do need one. Mine went missing during a trans rebuild from a shop..... I think it disappeared with my old core.

It's unique to the 85 for the A4LD at least. If you want to sell one, shoot me a PM.
