Gear shift assembly and linkage.

Hey guys I. Having issues with my shifter. Th where it is so worn down that it is b o uncong around in my shifter. It locked up and I called a transmission guy who said my linkage was broken I opened it up and I saw what he is talking about. The ball is just bouncing around in the sleeve it slides in what do I do to make this tight again and function properly again? Because as of now I can't shift with it as is.

1985 Ranger 2WD will either have a TK4 or TK5 manual trans, and shifter/parts are very hard to come by now-a-days

Door label Codes will be "X" for TK4 4-speed and "5" for TK5 5-speed

Thank you. And how do I link them together? The ball just fits into the sleeve? Is there a diagram somewhere?

What do you have, a 4-speed or 5-speed?
