Can anyone recommend to me an accurate temperature sender (to gauge) for a 1993 XLT 3.0L? I have been through several, including the Motorcraft version and every one produces resistance values way out of spec so that the needle on the gauge does not come up to the 12 o'clock position at running temperature.

The correct sender will produce ~80 Ohms cold, dropping to 10 Ohms at ~220° and able to produce 0 Ohms if the engine overheats.

I've been through the Motorcraft, Wells, Standard (I think) and Walker (I think) versions and they all register from 17 to 34 Ohms or more hot, so that the gauge always reads cold. At that rate I can't even be confident that the gauge would register an overheat situation.....that is the problem here.

Anyway, if you have been through this and can recommend the solution I would be grateful. The gauge tested fine when I grounded it.
