sbc in a ranger?


thanks blackwidow. I got the hedman s10 swap headers...hopefully they work. I hope i can bolt them on tonight, but they still haven't showed up. I will for sure get get some pics up after i get some. oh and how do you build a 302 out of a 350 block????:icon_confused:

yeah it is really exciting but trust me, you want to take your time. Don't try to cut corners like i did, it will usually set you back and that gets really frustrating!

By no means am I a chevy expert but I would guess that 283 crank in 350 block would work. not sure about journal diameters for the 283 but it does have the required 3" stroke.

that would be the opposite of what they did for the 307.

they put a 350 crank in a 283 block.

so a 283 crank in a 350 block would decrease your horsepower due to the lack of stroke.

i have no idea what that guy was talking about.
 
A 307 was a 327 crank (3.25) in a block with the same boar as a 283 (3.875).
A 305 was a 350 crank (3.48) in a block with a boar of 3.736.
 
the chevy 302 was a 327 with a 283s crank. my dad worked for gm and had a 69 or 70 z28 with a 302.
