sas questions

whats a good gear ratio for the d44/9" on 35" tires. i plan on driving often on roads. i was thinking 4.56. anyone have any advice?

with a 2.9L?

5.13's.

yeah i still have and will the the 2.9 for a while(or at least till it blows). then ill probably put a 4.0 or 302 in. so 5.13's are good for the 2.9 on 35"s?

I have 5.13's on my d44/9"

but I haven't bought my 35's yet , so still on 33's
and I don't have overdrive (c4tranny)

for the 2.9/3.0 Id say 5.13 for sure
4.88 gears minimum
but for the 302, you could do 4.56 if you want decent mileage.

i have 4.56 and it seems to have a LOT more power than it did with 32s and 3.45 gears........ide go 4.88 if ur going to take it on the dieway

alright well it looks like ill go with either 4.88 or 5.13's. another question about the axles. where is a good place to find seal, bearings, and brakes for them cheap? also how do you remove the bolt on the axle for the trac bar? is it pressed in?

well i ended up going with 4.56 gears because i picked up a set for $75 from a friend. and i got all my seals and bearings for the axles on the way. once i get everything together ill be posting a build thread. i do have another ? though. there is a bolt on my axle for a trac bar but the threads are messed up so i need to remove it. does anyone kow how to remove this bolt? or does anyone have an alternative solution for mounting the trac bar?

I just cut the whole block off, then built a mount on the axle tube to house a heim joint.

Sure. Guys use heims for everything (link ends, steering ends, etc.).

I've got a heim at the axle end, and a poly bushing at the frame end. I've got just at 20k miles on it and its still tight. I figured for the price, I could afford to replace it every so often. A price I was willing to pay for ease of mounting. Just get a quality heim if you decide to go that route. I've got a kevlar injected QA-1.

alright i may just go that route then. what would be a good setup for the radius arms? i wanted to cut them and sleeve them with dom tubing but i am worried a rock will take that out. any advice? and thanks a lot guys for the replies
