Ok , I originally I was going to do a 5.0 swap bought a running and driving 1998 explorer yanked the motor out, still need to pull the 8.8 rear end. BTW this is getting swapped to a 1994 2wd ranger. Fast forwarded to now. I've been researching the ecoboost 2.0 swap for price ,ease, gas prices ect...(ohh E85 is cheap) and because of the M5odr1 bolts to it. Lets get into the fab, It looks like there is fitment issues with the vacuum pump and fire wall I've seen some of the hack jobs that was done. I don't want to do this to my cab. Now it looks like you could move the motor up a bit and forward and still have room for electric fans. But id need some motor measurements. But for theory sake lets say there is room to clear the oil pan to the stock cross member or I cut and weld/ box the cross member to clear the pan and make room to clear the vacuum pump, also less cutting of the ducting for the blower motor( I want heat and Air). And listen I know ill have to swap the pan and pick up to the mustang set up, along with the intake manifold and coolant pipes ect... So now we bring the trans forward, this means drive shaft needs to be lengthened and shifter relocated ( get a hurst shifter the bent one or make a shift lever to clear dash and 40/60 bench), NBD. Now I know there is more to this swap BUT what are your thoughts on just getting it mounted this way? Is there any one out there that has done a cleaner swap besides the tech library (looks hack job to me)? any pictures? any better alternator set ups? Prius Power steering? Thoughts?
