Saginaw really that simple??

Thanks a a lot for all the leg work and follow up here that you are doing.

.

Welcome. Hopefully it will all come with a pay off of having a company offer a bolt in replacement for the RBVs

Best news all day...

Email from Jeff Howe:

We have modified those pumps before. We don't like the shaft's, we have seen them brake. Check out our website, we just put up new pic's of our Ford T/C pump install. Go to "accessories " Then "brackets" look for p/n # 920 check out pic's. This pump requires a reservoir and 2 fittings for the ford box and 3 hoses. 1 -6an pressure hose from the pump to the box. 1 -8an low pressure hose from the ford box to the reservoir.

Josh,
i wonder if that bracket from howe would work with the sag pump? Also, that bracket shown in their pics is different from my stock 94 bracket.

The PSC brackets shown in the link on an earlier page of this thread looks like it would bolt right up to my econoline pump i have sitting on the shelf awaiting for me to find a way to install it. has the four pump holes and looks to have the 3 mounting holes found on my stock bracket. Do you know if that would work for me? Obviously i need to clearance the stock bracket but I'm thinking it will work. I decided on the van pump because no one had one of those cardones in stock let alone if I did find one what happens when it goes bad, up the creek without a paddle i'd be.

what about "that guy"? I'd purchase one of his brackets if he still wants to sell it. My stock pump barely turns my 38's on flat grass with hydro assist and I just bought 40's so its going to be worse. The only reason I kept my stock pump was to get this thing out of the garage last march (2011) and i just been dealing with shitty steering ever since and i'm tired of it.

Let me know buddy and thanks.

PSC said it wouldn't work, but that's without clearencing anything. The bracket is 27 bucks, so if you're interested n that, I'd go that route because you're not out much.

That Guy isn't making them right now. They have been swamped at Duff so prototyping is on hold for now.

Not sure on the Howe either. On their site, they have contact us link. Email Jeff or give him a call. Evidently the pump shaft on these cardones are prone to failure, which is why they are no longer manufactured.

Hope this helps buddy. Put it this way, I'm ordering the Howe kit for the yellow truck when I get the v8 in.

So I gave PSC a call today on my lunch break and talked to Lance I think it was. Had a bit of an attitude towards me and basically said, "little bitty truck so ford put on a little bitty pump and didn't much care about being able to steer anything over the stock size tires so have fun with that", I just hung up on him after that. That was totally uncalled for so I'm going to do anything I can to not buy anything from them. someone else had a similar bracket to theirs but I cant remember who. Anyways, i'm going to figure out a way to get this van pump on here and the guy who is supposed to help me is pretty crafty with his torchmate so we'll see what happens.

Wild horses I think it was. PSC is well on their way to Ballsactic status...

Ok that's a little harsh, but they are falling behind a little in customer service. Which is why I have posted up Howe. Awesome customer service from guys who deal with rangers more than anyone else in the high performance steering industry

That's funny you should mention ballistic like that, I called them by that exact name just last week to a friend of mine.

Any who, while I'm waiting to finally get my junk in the garage I'm going to give Howe a call and see what they come up with. Hopefully I can integrate their bracket with my van sag pump.

I'm sure they could help

Well I called Howe and I would like to say that Jeff was extremely helpful over the phone. I spoke with him for about 20 minutes regarding the entire steering system and why they do theirs the way they do. Unfortunately he does not have a bracket for me to mount the van pump directly onto my stock bracket so it looks like i'm headed to the torchmate.
When I do i'll post up what the outcome is.

Sucks they don't have the part you need. Told ya their customer service was awesome.

Debating on selling the Saginaw off my yellow truck. It's well used, and works good. If anyone is interested, shoot me a pm

Back road, your frickin PM box is full!
