Yea, "Thatguy" did that bracket assy.

I can easily adapt an AC compressor on there if I choose.

Looks good y not just make a bolt on adapter this like the psc one I used

I used a pressure line from a 1989 e150 van with a 351. With a little tweaking it worked fine. I wanted to find a way to use a Saginaw without the t bird pump. I think if I took the time to make my own adapter I could have had a normal ham can pump mounted. I need to find a full circle bracket and a pump from a junkyard. Then I could see what I could come up with. the way I did it would have been cheep if not for the new psc resi.

When you say a little tweaking, what do you mean? I just installed a saginaw pump and my only issue left is the fitting to the pump for the pressure line is too long and does not go in all the way (and hence leaks). If it is just as easy to get a E150 line and bolt it in I would do that. I also googled adapters may be an option?

Get the mentioned line, it has a different end on it. The Ranger line WILL NOT seal.

"little tweaking" refers to un-bending one of the bends in the hard line section of the hose. It's self explanatory once you have the line in your hand.

I used an 80's Ranger line. They have the older fitting.

84 Is what I used

So I went to ORielly's and had them pull the following pressure lines

99 4.0L Ranger (what I have)
84 2.8L Ranger
89 351 E150 van

While the pump side for the 84 Ranger and 89 E150 looked like it might work, the steering box end did not match that of the 99 Ranger line. Any other thoughts.

Cut the 80s Ranger line at the metal and flare the end then do the same on the 99 line and use a union to put them together.

Im not sure why you would need a Saginaw on a Rack and Pinion setup anyway though. lol

There was talk of that a while back, I have since gotten rid of my 98, and never did anything with it.

I was gunna use the same line I have on my 94 (85 F150 5.0 4x4), and graft it to the 98 line.

My local O'Reilly makes hydraulic hoses, so I was gunna have them splice the 2 lines together the right way.

Thought about it and I didn't want the power steering side of hose to match my 99 hose. Took that block adapter thing to ORiellys with me. Ended up buying a 99 hose (had to cut my old hose off to get it of on the steering box side) and an 84 hose then took them both to a hydraulic shop to get one hose made of the two. Should be good to go now, just keeping an eye on it for any leaks. Definitively quieter

So it has been a couple days and no leaks. Only issue I have is I now have a rattle at idle (only at idle) when the AC is on. Sounds like a loose heat shield but that's not what it is. Isn't always there and when there it stops when I turn the AC of or put it in neutral.

looks like the tensioner is bad. It is rattling up against its bump stop at idle. Got the belt off and the tensioner does look bad. I replaced it last in 2010 @ 108k miles (20k miles ago). I guess it is possible it just went bad, maybe with how many times I had to take the belt off when doing the PS pump. Ordered a new one from Rock Auto

What bracket did you modify, and what pulley did you use?

If they are both original to your truck, the belt has worn and stretched.

If you changed something up, its possible you may need a shorter belt.

Either way, a new tensioner isn't a bad idea.
