saginaw on 4.0

I am also running the T Bird pump like Crawlin. I left the pressure right at the stock 1000-1100 PSI and it runs both hydro assist (1.5" bore) and hydroboost brakes with no issues.

The t bird pump is very hard to find anymore. I had 2 from Napa and the both leaked out the shaft seel in a few days

The RESERVOIR is hard to find. The pump itself is just your standard Saginaw P style pump like the canned ham style.

The shaft is also different and it has a adapter bracket on the front.

The reservoir is the same on 80s-90s GM trucks.

It's finding the pump with the reservoir and Ford adaptor all in one box.

The output fitting and return barb is also different as well as pressure settings on the GM small resi.

I used a pressure line from a 1989 e150 van with a 351. With a little tweaking it worked fine. I wanted to find a way to use a Saginaw without the t bird pump. I think if I took the time to make my own adapter I could have had a normal ham can pump mounted. I need to find a full circle bracket and a pump from a junkyard. Then I could see what I could come up with. the way I did it would have been cheep if not for the new psc resi.

The beauty if getting a T bird pump, is that once you have one your set. If it fails, you just swap the resi, fittings, and relief valve to a canned ham pump.

What about the shaft its longer and smaller in diameter than a normal saginaw

I reused my Tbird shaft in a GM pump.

I wanted to use one from a e150 but the junkyard I went to did not have any and u can't order them from ford. I used one from wild horses its not perfect though I could only press it on have way because of how offset it was. Its working for now next time at the junk yard I'm hoping to get one maybe off a chevy

I just saw on the write up below this one that someone is going to make brackets to mount Saginaw on a 4.0 and keep ac. That would be the way to go with being able to get pumps easaly.

I have A/C and the T-bird pump...
I didn't even know it was an issue...
