New to this forum not sure if im in the right posting area or what sorry if im not...

My question is what axles and gear rations should i run for front and rear axles?

im afraid that with 33'3 mud terrains that my stock axle wont last long

I have a 89 ford ranger 5 speed 2.9L with independent coil springs in the front end which is a dana 28 axle

Please help

33's at minimum 4.10. If you drive the truck and not beat on it your stock axles will last.

I know everyone is going to say swap to a d35&8.8. which is what you could do and a good option if you have the money to do it.

I would run anything less than a Dana 110S in the rear for that size. A D-35 or 55 TTB front should handle them up front though.

Well i have a shortened ford 9 inch rear end that i am redoing, new seals bearings ECT.

Any suggestions for what front end i could run? something that is a front end for coil springs that i could also possibly shorten?

A Dana 35 ttb from a 90-97 ranger will bolt right up but you may have to shorten the drive-shaft there's plenty of tech articles on here check out the tech library.
