Rough at low RPMs and under load

After a head gasket replacement, my truck's got a bad shudder at low RPMs. It seems to do okay once it's moving, but it's damned rough when just taking off. It's fluids are holding nicely, and it starts right up and doesn't stall, just sounds like crap and shakes the truck if it's in gear and below 5mph.

All new gaskets on the top end. Check engine light isn't on.

Okay, so here's what I've ruled out:
vacuum leak
cylinder not firing

Any other ideas? Could it be a bad injector? I remember having to clean out the end of one of them.

did you do a compression check to make sure everything is put back correct?? thats where i would start.

due to the recent work...i would suspect something was neglected during reassembly. there might be a sensor or something that didnt get plugged in properly. double and tripple check your work.

what year is the truck in question?

id check the intake gaskets for a leak or a bolt that isnt tightened properly on the intake, sounds like an air leak to me.

I'll check for an air leak tomorrow. Sensors, vacuum lines and compression all check out fine.

your welcome, just double check the torques on anything or a torn gasket somewhere, and pull the plugs on the head and make sure your not blowing water out of the ports as a sign of a bad/blown head gasket or loose head bolt.
