Well another update. Put an oem coil on and didn't fix anything. I am nearly positive it's a fueling issue. Maybe an injector is over fueling on cold start. It smells like raw fuel out of the tailpipe. I tried looking at Mode 6 misfire data but all read ok. No misfire codes. Likely because it misfires in open loop for a brief period of time. I tried measuring each runner on the exhaust manifolds but it was inconclusive and all seemed similar. I bought power balance feature for my Launch but issue is the engine has to be running to view it, and once I start the engine and hit "Ok", it's so slow and by the time it finally loads to the viewing screen, the misfire is gone. Forscan doesn't have that option. Does anyone have a better app or something to view power balance that is decent? Or a better way to try and see which cylinder(s) are misfiring? Tried pulling plug wires too but that was also inconclusive. At my wits end with this. I wish Ford PCM's could just give you live misfire counters.
