My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I don't pay a lot of attention to the news. I've been getting almost enough coronavirus updates from here on TRS.

A few minutes ago, I got an official communication from work (BMW) that we will be resuming production on May 4 with a slow ramp up to full production. It will be at a lower capacity than before because the economy is obviously slower. So, since we shut down 5 weeks ago due to a lack of parts, this must mean that other parts of the country are returning to normal or a "new normal" routine.

How many of you are seeing this happen? Are we really pulling out of this mess?

Our governor has us shut down til the end of May...

MA. has extended our major restrictions till May 18th at this point but will most likely be a call it by ear scenario here with as bad as we have been hit by it.

The NIH has extended the closure/work from home until the end of May unless you are doing COVID-19 related research. Reopening has to do with many federal and local factors.

PA's health secretary Dr. Struggles-with-Reality has been waffling bad on what we are doing, what the plan is, what was meant by what was said. A lot of it is trying to spin unpopular statements and declarations by Gov. Sheep's Clothing.

What I am seeing from the medical community is that this spread far faster and wider than we ever imagined and was far less deadly than we were told by the talking heads.

I think my state FL is split. A lot of businesses are based off of tourism but nobody wants to risk death over paychecks.

yeah what adsm said.

risk death for paycheck?

only way i know.

I have a feeling respiratory infections will increase with mask requirements and lack of supply. They basically threw out the normal procedures for proper ppe usage. So most people will be breathing weeks if not months of bacteria constantly. Do yourself the favor only wear that trash when absolutely necessary. I see plenty of nudniks driving around wearing gloves and masks in their own cars by themselves. Thats not healthy. Don't do it.

Nvm.....

Don't leave you're homes for any reason. I like the roads not as busy.

Death is coming regardless if you leave you're........

I'm not going to start. Sometimes it's just not worth arguing.

Gestapo Gretchen extended ours till may 15th....

She did allow people to golf again....but they cant use carts.

"Allowed" in America 😂🤣 the new "normal" pesents.

States and cities will be damned if the open and damned if they stay closed. I know many want to open up, but at the same time, you younger guys remember that for us older folks, me and wife, your parents and grandparents...its going to be a whole new ball game. The older folks just won't be able to get back to anything that resembles "normal" as the underlying fear of this virus will always be with us.
It may slow, but it's going to be here for many years, and us oldsters will have to adapt to it.
The fact that 60,000 citizens are dead seem like a small # when compared to the population, but think of a city near you with a population of 60,000, and than realize that every man, woman, and child in that city is gone forever.
In just 6 weeks we lost as many citizens as we lost in 10 years in Nam.
"Normal" is gone for a long time.

Better watch out there are few people around these parts just drooling to shame you with meaningless platitudes and send you for reeducation.

We have a finite life span, we are hurling through the vast emptiness of a vacuum, around a star thats dying, on a rock with a thin layer of gas between you and death..... but better stay inside the microscopic deathstar with dicks all over it is coming for me....

By all means if you are worried about it stay the course. Isolate, and get food delivered, we can probably provide the same amount of money for the elderly and infirm for the next 5 years if we get back up sooner than later.
