Return to Normalcy?

You must work for the government and are getting your full paycheck.
No, that’s me. :bye:
I understand that there are people out of work and hurting. I hope we can open back up soon...

But have any of you gotten a call from a close friend saying his mother died from this shit? I have. There’s no funeral, no viewing, no one paying their respects. Just him and his sister saying good bye to their mother.
The last memory his kids have of grandma is her being taken away by paramedics in tyvex suits.

Some of you may not see it because your town, county, state just doesn’t have that many cases. My county has more cases then 1/2 the states in the country!

You must work for the government and are getting your full paycheck. Some people though, need to eat and pay the bills.

This is a good experiment for the liberals, I hope they see while everyone wouldn't mind staying and home and having everything for free, it just won't happen. Someone has to work and make some money somehow to keep things going.

I can't seeing any lessons for the AOC crowd.

Liberal....I am a liberal. I have many conservative values but overall I love Franklin and Jefferson. Fiercely Independent is my party. I hate the gop these days.

I respect Carlin. While I do not agree with him on a large amount of issues....huge respect for his reasoning and outlook. What he says is on point and that bit I posted started in the late 60,s iirc.....40 years later he was still using it....and it was truer then ever.

In my eyes you are referring to progressives....or leftist.

They love them some top down control....you know...for the people.

Divide. Conquer. All Marx all the time.

REDACTED.

It was redacted .....I am sure of it:unsure:

Like snoranger, that's me but in a different field. This whole thing has screwed things up in so many ways for so many people it isn't funny.

While I haven't had any family members fall because of the virus, there have been quite a good number of Vietnam Veteran deaths since this has all started. I hate having to report them to the VVA and AVVA members as it is, let alone this number. And all having private funerals, no ceremony, no visits to console grieving families for their loss.

Work, schedules are completely jerked around to accommodate steps concerning the virus. People being delayed coming home from deployment and being put into quarantine after they do get home. Aircraft are being impounded until the virus infection, if any, is known to be dead.

My personal finances haven't been effected but a lot of people I do know have been.

Life is not normal, even for those who are still working by a long shot.

Yeah. That is life. Menengitis killing your children sux too.

I don't have any answers. The elderly in majority are already sheltered and many retired.

When the food runs out....it is too late.

3 days after trucks quit moving....there will be a new normal... And those calls from your friends will make what you say look pretty acceptable....the horror is unimaginable.

This thing now. Likely just getting settled....real party is on the way. Some people just live by the beat of a different drum.
Its gonna be like the walking dead minus the zombies....

Personally, im not worried. Ive always felt i was cut out for that self reliance type world.

It sounds fun until you step on a nail and your foot turns green.

While it sounds fun to turn into the wise grizzled old fur trapper dude... I have a hunch something stupid would get you first.

Excuse me?

I founded my oilfield service company when I was living out of the back of my f*cking ranger. Yes, I was homeless and still working when I was funded.

I came from nothing and I've worked for everything I f*cking have.

Yes. I worked for the government. It was why I pursued my PhD. Never finished because money.

Get your facts straight

Whenever economic apocalypse is brought up I always mention how I want some of the dust to settle.

I want the bottom 10% -15% of the world's cheapest goods to cease being made. I want to see far fewer disposable products.

Cost of disposal and including recycling in design is a must do.

I would like to see some sharing of cars like zip-car expanded in cities where traffic could be reduced. We're seeing some benefits of reduced noise and dirt.

Aloha

Careful - if you start making it a requirement to consider true life cycle costs, virtually nothing of our industrialized world remains viable. The costs for thee, the benefits for me is how it all works, and you may not enjoy looking behind that curtain.
