Return to Normalcy?

I'm pretty sure the CDC would like to chat with you. You may be the missing link.

No, scratch that, I'm sure you're the missing link. I'm just not sure what chain.

Just make sure you wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds afterward.

I didn't even wash my hands after applying all my miscellaneous ass and genital ointments... i just wiped them on the dog. :dunno:

The way i see it, my tax dollar funds the CDC. If they want my hands washed they can come do it themselves.

that shit aint normalcy.....that is clearly tuesday territory.

**** normalcy.

I'm loving this shit.

Do you realize how much I've gotten done since this started?!?!

Cough, everybody cough! On each other!

Sorry. IMO it's too soon.

Also think it's weird that they're pushing to get back to work and get industry moving, let everyone else sit while China not so quietly lies their asses off about it and openly tests nukes in the background.

This could be ugly.

Correlation does not mean causation.

Idgaf I wanna get more stuff done. The quiet has been nice.

**** you I'm an introvert.

*smoke bomb*

I seriously doubt we will go back to the old normal. Some will be good and some not so much. Time will tell how much not so much there will be.

Better watch out there are few people around these parts just drooling to shame you with meaningless platitudes and send you for reeducation.
I dont care.

My opinion/viewpoints often differ from the norm.

Like ive said before...if you want to stay home, isolate, and not do any of the things that make life worth living because youre worried about contracting a virus that probably wont even land you in a hospital...then go right ahead.

Now if youll excuse me...i have things to do and company to enjoy.

my work has slowed down, were only running 2 machines per shift and the rest (12 people total between 2 shifts) are cleaning or doing maintenance work. (7 total sand core machines) Since gas is so low, Ive got a 55 gallon drum in the corner of the garage now with fuel and stabilizer in it. Ive considered getting another but thats alot of gas to try and use up in a 2 year window between 2 lawnmowers and a tractor. plus drums take up space and are hella heavy when full of gas. I did put my fuel drum on a furniture dolly so it can be moved a little easier. I dont know what to expect of the future but im tired of all this crap. Even when its over it wont be normal, it will be a new normal of sorts. Hopefully I can get the escape paid off before anything drastic happens with my job, Im still the last one that got hired in so Im aware what that means with work slowing down. My better half is at a dryer factory (whirlpool) and so far they are still going, we could live off just one income but the rent here makes it difficult to get ahead much.

You must work for the government and are getting your full paycheck. Some people though, need to eat and pay the bills.

This is a good experiment for the liberals, I hope they see while everyone wouldn't mind staying and home and having everything for free, it just won't happen. Someone has to work and make some money somehow to keep things going.

The problem is people who like the stay at home stuff forget, If we don't get things moving sooner than later. People are going to starve to death or be willing to kill for whats left in your freezer or pantry. The stores are going to have less on the shelves once the meat supplies drop. Instead of people buying chicken or beef since supplies will be limited or people wont be able to afford it. Other things that provide protein will take its place in the carts of shoppers leaving less items in total to eat in the store.Tragic the numbers maybe but if we dont find a way to cope with this other than hide in our homes the problems will be much worse in the long term. We can do things to protect ourselves from this. You think the starvation is going to be bad here think about other parts of the world that are constantly riddled with death and destruction. If you are afraid of being around other people stay home, If you worry about this on a packed flight STAY HOME or drive. We have a moral obligation to protect ourselves and our nation from something we can easily defeat starvation. The "new" normal is the same as the "old" normal, Personal responsibility it will never change this virus has a 98% survival rate from the figures ive been reading. We can continue with the safety measures for the general public and we can insist that elderly and infirm individuals stay home and away from their families and others for now.

Eventually we all have to confront this.

You say the cake is lie, I say the same about a developed vaccine.

I work at a manufacturer with about 100 employees - I went back to work last Friday and we open up full time on Monday. We've moved a production line to another building and we're adding space and partitions, everyone wears a @#$(*& mask, etc. There are always exceptions, but for the most part this virus has accelerated the deaths of a lot of people who were not going to make it much longer anyway. That's a personal tragedy for a lot of people, but from a big picture the deaths are not that big an impact on the functioning of the society. But I think the things people have experienced during this lockdown will impact their views in a lot of ways that will be hard to predict.

As for normal, two different things have happened. The pandemic was one, and it was the trigger for the other that was baked in the cake since 2008 - economic collapse. They kicked the can down the road but it's been ready to blow for a while now. A lot of those jobs are never coming back, and things will look a lot different from here out.

I say redshirt memes are generally humorous.
