The machine shop had a slight oversight and ordered the replacement heads (new heavy duty castings, not OE ford or remans) with 8mm accessory holes instead of the 10mm my truck originally had. Is there any reason why I couldn't get the 8mm bolts (and brackets if required) from an earlier truck and run these heads? I'm thinking it won't be an issue, but I just want to make sure before going forward.

If it's the machine shops fault they need to fix it. I would think they have the capability of drilling and tapping for the right size bolt.
That said, it may be alright to use 8mm rather than 10mm, but I'm not an engineer. If the motor has used that size in the past then I'd think it OK but..... who pays if there is catastrophic failure?
Good luck,

Richard
