This might be a stupid question, but what is the best way to seal these fititngs going into the oil filter relocator?

I was thinking teflon tape would get into the oil eventually even if wrapped correctly... so thats probably not the best idea.

rtv around the threads maybe? not sure :icon_confused:

I hate having any kind of leaks, and even though it's a slow leak i want to take the time to fix it now because once it's on the road im just gonnna want to drive it and it will never get fixed lol.

speaking of this thread. i have a leak in my brand new kit right where the hose connects to the fitting there is a plastic compression sleeve in between the hose and the brass fitting and that is leaking its not on the actual adapter block. does anyone no how to fix it? right now i have a hose clamp around it and it still leaks

I used hydraulic fittings and hose... which is all well and good but due to the close proximity of most of the ports on adaptors you have to use swivel pipe thread fittings because nothing else will turn without hitting the second fitting. With swivel pipe thread fittings the whole end turns so even when it is tight there is still some slop in the fitting. These fittings are notoriously common to leak... I figured since I was running 50psi max and what these things normally struggle with is running 1500-3500psi with leakage problems I would be ok.

Mine leak. Not a gusher but the housing and filter get moist and attract road grime. I have been pondering what to do, so far the best I have come up with is to adapt it to JIC and use JIC swivels fittings. The flare part of a JIC swivel is one piece with the rest of the fitting and the nut you turn just tightens it up against the mating part.

If you go this route you will see what I mean when you look at the fittings...

I used hydraulic fittings on mine, zero leaks in ten years. I use teflon pipe thread sealer (paste) on all threaded fittings, no leaks there either

I went to my local CarQuest(SSR here) and had high pressure hydraulic hoses made. A little over kill, but in 11 years not a single leak. (60 bucks for my hoses)
