I think im gonna lift my truck a couple inches doin the torsion bar and shackles trick. What are a decent pair of shackles for an even more decent price?

BellTech 6400's at Performance Center or Summit Racing - they say they're to lower a Chevy but they lift the Ranger. I've done it to my '07 4X4.

Same here...I've got the 6400's on mine...got 1.5" lift out of the 2" chevy drop shackles. They also offer 1" chevy drop shackles as well...should get 3/4" lift?

alright cool thanks guys.. and for tire size.. I want to go with 33's im pretty sure they will fit fine, how wide should i go

FWIW~
You won't clear 33's that way, maybe 32's. 33's would be rubbing all over the place......

With a tbar crank and shackles you should clear a 285/75r16 just fine

alright cool. Any brand tire i should stay away from?

His 08 is lower from the factory than your 07 too. It's weird cuz I've never heard of rubbing issues with 265's and a 2" lift on an 07...

that looks bad ass. How much did that setup run you all together

It's not my truck haha. Shackles are cheap $60, T-bar crank is free, wheels and tires are maybe $1500?? I dunno. That look should be attainable for less than a g-note

ha g note. Sorry i ahve been drinkin just thought that was funny. I was lookin a t some bfgoodrich 33X12.5r15 I am personally a fan of the bf. I hope i dont have to lift the body on this bitch. because ill need bigger tires if i do that. I spose i can manage through winter though. Im stoked as shit. is the torsion lift really as easy as it looks? I got uinder there tonight and found the bolts. lol do you really just jack the her up 1.5 inch and twist em till they touch the ground?

sorry to kill the vibe, but i dont think theres any way your going to clear 33x12.5 without at least like 4 or 4.5" of lift. and yeah, the tbar crank is quick and easy, but if your going to do it, do it right. count the threads on each bolt you crank or your allignment will be slightly off and your truck will strait up eat tires. if fact, its not a bad idea to get realligned after a tbar crank. with that kind of lift your also going to have a really, REALLY tough ride unless your on pavement. post pics when you out new tires on though

I just did a Tbar crank in the front--bout 1.75" and then belltech shackles in back. Really easy install on both. I got a 4 wheel alignment after the Tbar crank, but they said not much was off, least anything the lift would have affected. It's still well worth the money. The shackles weren't hard but took a little while, especially if you have a hitch receiver you're going to be trying to get the bolts in and out around it, but it worked for me just fine. I'm looking for some 285/75/16s for mine too so I'm glad to hear people are already running them with this lift.

It looks like there's no rub but if you take the front wheels off they do rub ion the sway bar. Not a big deal, but it does rub some.

And

You say torsion "max" up front. How high did you crank yours? I'd like another 1/2"-1" or so....

Thats not my truck. It belongs to a guy who lives not far from me and is another forum. I personally only cranked my bars about 5 turns or so. It got me about 1.25". When I say 'max' I mean cranking the bolts in as far as they will go. I didn't because I didn't want the sharp CV angle. I still have over 1/2" of thread left on the bolts. Unless you cranked yours all the way in(no thread left) you should be able to get another 1/2" at least.
