Rear shackle orientation

Removing my lift shackles, and have a quick question. What's the proper orientation for the stock ones?

I do it the second way. So when it all flexes and hinges, the spring won't hit the flat web part.

Mine had the solid to the front, I matched factory.

My Belltechs have tons of room, bottoming them out isn't going to happen.

I'm with Curious Hound. 1 seems like it wouldn't take much flex to have the spring bind on the shackle. 2 should be able to push the shackle out to almost horizontal...

It wouldn't take a lot of movement... but it would take a lot to get enough movement.

The metal sleeve in the center of the bushing should prevent any distortion, so just hammer them home to 80-120 lb-ft. Also leave everything loose until the weight of the truck is sitting on the suspension before tightening. This will prevent the rubber bushings from being in a constant bind at ride height.
