Just got done swapping in one tons with dual piston calipers all the say around. After just having the fronts bleed and working I know I will need a larger master cylinder. I am going to get a mater from a F 350 and plume that in. As for the rear I will be running new lines and wont be running a proportioning valve and of course no metering valve as the rears are disk.

Now for the question. I don’t need to run any sort of residual check valve in the rear? I have been told by a few people that I have to, but I don’t thing so.

There reasoning is that you don’t want the pads to walk away from the disks, resulting in having to pump the brakes to get a peddle. But the front does not have a check valve and there are not problems such as this in the front. And If I where to put a check valve in line with disks wouldn’t it just keep the brakes locked, or dragging badly.

I would say if the donor vehicle has it, use it, if not, skip it.

Sounds like a cool project, so let me say:

:worthless:
