Ravo's Ranger

they are from a tj. they are 15x8 american racing wheels with 3 3/8 bs. here is a picture rolled underneath since i already have the stock wheel off for the axle shaft swap

the truck is maybe lifted 6" off the ground so its about 2" higher than where i want it to be when completed. but i think it looks pretty sweet

and speaking of axle shafts.

the slip yoke took me 3 weeks to find

i installed a grease fitting because i didn't want to have to do this again.

i mounted one of the wheels on the drivers side since i needed to take the old wheel off to get at the axle shaft anyway. turns out i either need bigger lugs or i need to cut the studs a bit because i popped two of the caps off the lugs

here it is from the front. i was surprised and pleased at how little it sticks out

i was worried 3 3/8 backspacinng would push them out too far but i think its perfect. when i get my 33x10.5's once these wear out they should just barely stick out.

also it rubs a little on the fog valence. once i get my leveling coils i should be all set. and if not.... i got a hacksaw

invest in a 4 1/2 grinder with a cut off wheel lol it kicks the shit outta a hacksaw. :icon_rofl:

otherwise it looks sick but im a fan of more tire out past the body the better

i'm just gonna have to get a picture of my tool box. about 8 years ago our garage burned down with our built cj5 in it 2 weeks after she was painted. insurance bought us all new craftsman tools. i have just about everything except for a plasma cutter and vehicle lift. the garage wasnt tall enough. lol. so the cut off wheel is in my possession.

as for the tires. i agree. i like the tires sticking out because it gives it a good off road stance and looks cool. but anything more than an inch is too excessive.

haha. i just realized my racing fuel for my dirtbike is in those pictures. i wonder how my truck would like 110 octane. :P

my tires stick out like 3" on my f150 and its 2wd with street tires:icon_rofl:

if i could id rock the entire tire out past the body

i'm going to roll this thing off a cliff. what in the hell was ford thinking putting a vertical bolt on the diff that you can't get to.

and hints before i do some damage to my truck

got a pic? i have no idea what part your talking about with a bolt like that

i will take one later. on the left side of the front diff there is a vertical bolt inside one of the arms that's almost impossible to get to

let me just say i love having a dad who is willing to help when i'm at work. but it might just be because he want my junk out of the grarage so he can start working on his jeep.

first off. this is my tool supply for anything i might ever have to do
2011-03-23_21-27-24_594.jpg

and now fun stuff. while i was out my dad notched the rad arm to get that bolt out
2011-03-23_21-25-06_117.jpg

had to drill out a hole underneath to get the impact driver on it
448.jpg

this is what i found on the ground when i got home.

this is how much oil came out. im not sure but i think i was supposed to have more. stupid previous owner:annoyed:
2011-03-23_21-25-53_561.jpg

and this was the cause of all the trouble... do you see any splines in there?
455.jpg

now i'm just gonna order a set of leveling coils while its apart so i don't need to take this much off again for a while. then i won't have to worry about cutting my fog valence

I think ford woulda wanted you to pull the radius arm to pull the diff. When I did my radius arm bushings all data wanted a bunch of extra steps too. But all I woulda done was undo the radius arm bushings bolt pulled the traction beam on that side forwards maybe took that half of he radius arm crossmember out and slidtje radius arm over that way you wouldn't have had to cut up the radius arm. Sounds like more work then it really is, I think I'd box in around where you drilled for sure. Otherwise yay 4wd!

yeah. i'm more than likely gonna box it up. even though i doubt it will who would want it to fall apart while you're driving

Yup like u said chances are it'll be fine but I'd rather be safe then sorry. Maybe this is a good oprotunity to make some extended arms

just ordered a set of 132x coils. hopefully be here by the beginning of next week. then once i get it through dmv inspection (its from out of state) i'll be ready for my 32's and won't need to trim anything
