Ranger's gone

Sadly, my Ranger is gone. I will miss her. So I now have a new vehicle to drive.

Man. I would have sold you my Ranger. At least you know you'll be busy now.
 
Ouch, that sucks. Be careful of the front suspension on that, grease it often. There's lots of fittings. Also, stay out of the mud with that one.

and watch wheel bearings, abs sensors, torsion bar mounts, FI parts, brakes including calipers, rear parking brake shoes and calipers, recliner levers, o2 sensors, door hinges, rear liftgate latch and I am sure I am forgetting something.



PS The crank. The 4.3 has a weak crank. I sold a ton of those engines.

Yep, as I tell all GM product owners theres a reason parts are cheap and readally avalible for GMs.:icon_thumby:

Ohhhh, that is soooo sad. You'll be back. I owned a GM once- just ONCE. never again.

I forgot to fill in the details. So here is a re-edit:

Sadly, my Ranger is gone to have the hail dents pulled. I will miss her. So I now have a new vehicle to drive for a week.

What, you guys REALLY thought I traded in my Ford Ranger for a Chevy??? Shame on you. :icon_rofl:

FYI: That is my mother's vehicle. Thou I do fix it every time something breaks.

that blazer looks clean from the pic what's the details on it?
i see people forget that rangers have just as much problems as the gm's do . or do i have ford's auto hub problem misunderstood or maybe the other million problems in the tec section here don't really exist?
 
If it has a blue oval, it'll keep you busy. I've owned both, and I've had way more problems with ford than I have GM.

People seem to forget... or just try to ignore... that Ford wouldn't be where they are at now if it wasn't for Mazda sharing or giving them their platforms (excluding GD and GE, those were garbage in america)

What transmission did ford use as a benchmark for their new diesel (and 6.2)??? Any one recall???

That specific GM chassis is especially bad. An equivalent Explorer has far lesser issues. Things like hubs and other parts like that are junk on every 4x4 out there with auto hubs, so that's a pretty moot point.
