Something different: We just got back from vacation in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Santiago, Chile. Among the 1,000 or so pictures I took are some of local Rangers I spotted on the street. Ford is a pretty popular vehicle in South America, much more than Chevy (which mostly puts the bow tie on European-based Opel models). So here are a few.
Over in La Boca (a working-class neighborhood in Buenos Aires) was this Ranger, which must be some sort of airport truck.
One day in Parque Tres de Febrero (February 3rd Park) was this similar model, looking a bit cleaner.
I'm not sure if this is a diesel or gas 3.0, probably diesel.
In Santiago, I saw this more civilian-based Ranger.
No so unusual, except for this badge. (Stand proud, 3.0 owners!)
In general, trucks don't seem to be a leisure-based vehicle but more work-oriented. But this is in some very big cities, so if a family only has one vehicle, a sedan makes more sense. I'm sure out in the countryside it's different.
If you're interested I can show you the REALLY cool thing they have in Argentina . . . Ford Falcons like you never saw!
