Rangerrod 2.0

Oh small world! Yes picture of me stuck is on the main road below 7-up. I usually snow wheel up out of toutle wa. I just came back from a Super Bowl party off padded pkwy.

You might want to change your tranny temp sending unit set up, as that tee is good for pressure readings, but not so good for accurate temp reading as there is no flow. You can drill and tap a second hole next to the tee fitting and install both sending units in the pan. How are you liking the doubler setup, or did you get to try it out yet?

Maybe I'll do that when I drop the tranny to get the 2-3 flare fixed. Doubler kicks ass in soft snow I was able to just barely crawl up on top of it so it works. Hopefully I can try it on some rocks this spring. I'm just more concerned with the 44 not liking it. And here in the next week I'll start on my internal pump.

Yeah my parents live in hockinson at the end of padden parkway. Hopefully someday ill be able to move back to Vancouver and bring the truck back there. My rig never was very built until I left, but we always went wheeling on larch mt. and out in the Gifford Pinchot forest near St. Helens.

Do you remember what fuel pump you used? I am worried I will regret using an external pump.

Yea ill be no help except to say i hate inline pumps. I went through 4 on my samurai in a year and its a straight trail rig. So it isnt run much, the only good one ive had was a msd

Not much to post got my in tank pump stuff on the way. Got my new springs from bc broncos just some 6.5" springs. Gave me 2" of lift over the 5.5" cage springs I was running. So I'll have 6" of up travel again.

If these sag I'll pull some leaves out of the back. They seem a lot firmer than the cage springs which I thought were too soft forgoing fast.

Been busy not much to post. Pulled tranny out just got a call it's ready. Started on the in tank fuel pump. 3 walbro pickups a walbro gsl392 pump submersible fuel line from napa $25 a foot. A got some submersible fuel line from liquid iron industries but it was supposed to be 3/8 but seems a bit small so I didn't use it.
I'll also leave the frame mounted pump and have the ability to swap it over to that if needed to get off the trail.

keep us posted how it works out for you. This may be an stupid question, but how do wire a submerged pump?

I use just regular thhn wire which is fuel resistant use two plastic washers and screws for pass through for the power. Ill get pics tonight.

Got my tranny back as stated before its a c5 converted to c4. Which means different bellhousing different torque converter different valve body all c4 items. The one thing I wasn't aware was the servo c5 servos are the smallest in the c4/c5 family. Which caused a 2-3 shift flare and wasted a band with 107 miles on it. So ordered a tci servo had my tranny guy install it. This should fix it also drilled and tapped the pan to get rid of the "t" fitting so my guage and fan will get correct temp.

Got my tank put all back together. Made a bracket that holds the pump and goes to ring for filler neck. Ran wires through outside of tank with plastic washers similar to how the fittings are on the tank. I've ran my jeep in a similar way for 5 years. Getting everything in the tank and hooked up with one hand was tricky. I now know what it's like to build a ship in a bottle!

Finally got the truck going shift flare is gone! Fuel pump can't even hear it run! Still needs little stuff bump stops etc then I'm going for a dune run. Front springs on the street are an improvement a little stiffer doesn't bottom out over potholes now. Got a tranny dip stick from lokar.

Your rig looks good! That wiring looks like a nightmare though haha, I can't wait to do mine...

Actually most of the wiring under the hood that looks like crap is power windows and door locks. Looked pretty clean till that mess got thrown in.
