Rangerrod 2.0

Inside the cowel.where the windshield wiper.motor is

It's still above the pump so I'm thinking on the frame rail at this time. Then once I get a reservoir after assist I can move it to a better location.

Yep under the flatbed just went and picked up the line. I'm thinking above the radiator in front of the motor after I get a reservoir.

The return line is where it would need to be, return pressure is enough to return the fluid to the reservoir, but maintaining pressure is not an issue. You can use hardline which is cheaper (same as brakelines, just larger diameter) and attach to the frame. Steel lines will also help dissipate heat better than the rubber lines will. Another option for you is to use a tranny cooler from a GEN 3 explorer, as they are the same width as the radiator, and about 6-8 inches high, about 1 inch thick. This would be more than enough for a PS cooler....

No room on the radiator. I'm running this brcause I've read this îs the best one for Hydro assist and crawling doesn't require air flow. I like rubber line because if a tranny line goes I could loop the steering together and get back up and running. Same reason I run fuel line for diff breathers. Easy to carry spares.

Got steering cooler mounted under flatbed it was still pretty big for there even.

Also cut up old plastic inner fenders to make splash guard for engine compartment.

Also wired up cb and tightened misc nuts and bolts. Going in the snow Sunday should be fun.

I think you just solved your ps cooling issues :icon_thumby:

Alright took it in snow today. Snow was powder couldn't pack everyone was stuck. Truck had a bunch of little issues. Steering puked fluid tranny got hot, Johnny joints inverted, front coils are too soft, and oil pressure gauge and speedo quit working. So I'm changing the Johnny joints to bushings fix the gauges probably wheel with the front springs how they are for now. Going to get another temp switch wire it in parallel to switch for radiator hopefully that will fix the tranny overheating.

What worked well mtrs aired down nice good traction even though the snow was sugar. V8 was nice when I needed the power. Doubler was nice to crawl up onto top of the snow. Steering cooler worked great after I spent 4hrs bleeding it. Overall I'm pretty happy with it. lost camera with most of my pictures on it so this is all I got.

Going snow wheeling at tsf tomorrow got rear shackle hangers changed from Johnny joints to bushings. I think they were causing excessive body roll. Moved them back 3/4" also to solve them bottoming out. It gave the truck some rake not really happy with that but have a plan to solve it.

Also wired up another BMW temp switch to the tranny. So when either the motor or transmission is 195 degrees the fan will turn on and hi speed will come on at 210 degrees. Hoping this will solve all my over heating issues.

Went wheeling pretty happy with the rig. Tranny temp switch worked fan came on and kept tranny temp around 210 degrees. This was an improvement.

What went wrong was fuel pump quit working then winch wouldn't real out. Then shifter broke off for the first transfer case. All while I was attached and stuck to another rig.

Beat on the pump started to work. Was able to crawl under the rig get front case in low was in neutral. I'm going to an in tank pump too I've never had good luck with external pumps. And this one only has 100 miles on it. Other than that Mtrs kicked ass. I was able to crawl up on top the snow with double low and plow through it when needed. So again pretty happy with it.
