Ranger Sport Honduras official build thread

Hahaha , it was either this complicated thing or nothing.

Im still wondering how you know how long you will need your driveshafts since you dont have the 4wd tranny in your truck or the D30 up front.

Wait your stock shaft isnt in use anymore then how are you driving your truck then? Hopefully the 4wd tranny will be in soon.

We did some test fit and measurements for the rear one.
The front one wont be the complete shaft for now. just the piece that will go in the t case.
that way i wont have to take the trans out to get that done later.
once the axle is installed ill take the shaft so they can finish it.

im using my moms truck driveshaft to drive around.

i hope we can put the trans on saturday. :icon_thumby:

Today i took the old bearing from the driveshaft, got a rubber boot to keep water and dust out of the slip yoke.
Also did a quik paint work on it.
looks way better

I couldnt get pictures while they did this because i was at the farm. but heres the final product.
Since the axle has a part of the XJ driveshaft attached to it, and it has the slip joke part.
so there was no need to have another slip joke in the t case output.
my cousin has a toyota front driveshaft laying around, and he wont need it, so he gaved it to me :D
The shaft was machined to fit in by pressure. its tight as hell.
and then welded.

The 4wd trans is going in on Saturday. :headbang:

So the shaft for the front of the t-case is pressed into the center of the output shaft?

Yeah. and then welded all around the output.
In case i need to replace the output shaft it has enough clearance to go through the hole on the housing.

It doesnt sound as a great idea, but thats pretty much all i could do to get over the driveshaft deal.
I hope it works fine.

it should work. as long as that flange is bolted on. you will have more options for driveshafts than what I was going to send you.:icon_thumby:

Yeah the flange is bolted, just like the rear one.
a big nut in the center.

It would been cool to get that driveshaft.
having a part from another TRS member on my truck.
but im on limited funds.

Well, 2nd part actually. because my rear dif gears came from Scott5460

4WD trans is in. and works great.
no hums, no weird noises, no hard shifts.

I didnt take much pics because i didnt consider it worth it. i mean everyone has seen a 2wd trans and has an idea of how u swap one.
I still havent installed the t-case shifter, because we ran out of day light. but i tested the t case by shifting it under the truck and works flawless.
still need to install the shifter and wire up the dash lights.

The shifter from my old trans doesnt fit on the 4wd one, not even replacing the fork thing. seems like the 2wd one is longer.
so ill just cut the shifter and put my shift knob on it.

the truck feels like a boss on low range. :headbang:

the fixed shifter.
