Ranger Sport Honduras official build thread

Yeah its dirty as hell. and yeah its missing a few bolts, mostly on the shifter linkage.
Comparing to this pic i found, seems like the linkage is just out of alignment

The t case to front shaft output is supposed to be that way or is it missing something?

Hey, there is a transmission in your truck.

Get some better pics of the front and back of the t-case. An ID number off of it would also be helpful. Something doesn't look quite right about it.

If it's def a 1350 then it's probably supposed to be like that. I think they all had the slip-yoke style shafts. I have one that should work if you have too much trouble finding one locally.

Thats a BW1350, looks exactly like what my truck has. I personally dont like the slip yoke joint but until I need to get a new transfercase, Im not going to complain.

I just saw that the output of the transfercase for the rear driveshaft is different then mine. Mine has a yoke on it and your has a flange. That makes me wonder were things changed over the years or has the transfercase been messed with before.

The front is supposed to look like that. If you want to have anything over 3" of lift, that front driveshaft will probably vibrate on you. But dangerranger83 is using the same d30, t-case, and front shaft and says he has no problems with it. I have a 1350 but with the fixed front yoke from an 87 or 88 STX. I will have to find a picture of it for you.

I believe in 86 is when they went to the flange.

So the front drive shaft will be as the 2wd one? bolted to the diferential, but just slide into position on the t case?
The trans is supposed to be completly stock and unmolested, atleast thats what the owner told me.

If they went flange on the 86, this 91 would have it right? :icon_confused:

They put the flange on the rear output.
I'll try to get a pic for you in the next few days.

Tomorrow ill tear down the front suspension to clean up the parts and start selling them
that way ill get more funds to keep the build.

ill clean the trans completly from the outside, then ill clean the internals, change the seals, the shifter bushing and mount it to test.

That shifter linkage isn't right.
I can take a picture of what I did with mine along with the front yoke tomorrow.

For the pics ive seen, its supposed to have a small bent.
please take those pics, since i need to get it right before we put the trans on the truck. :icon_thumby:

your also missing the rubber that goes onto the shift pin and the lever goes on both sides of that. i thought only the 54's had the bend in the linkage?
