On my ranger the spare tire holder rusted out and evap cannister fell dragging on ground. The wires broke on connector. Does anyone know where to get a new one and does it matter which wire goes to which side.

Wrecking yard is best bet

You can buy new

Only electrical connection would be the Vent solenoid, and its a solenoid so has no Polarity, no +/-, so as long as both wires are hooked up it will work

You can test used solenoid with 9v battery(or car battery), should "click" closed when powered
