So i want to put a 302 in my 4x4 ranger but i don't find the guide descriptive enough, so i need to know the best way to fit a m5od-r2 transmission with an manual or electric tcase and what bell house to use on my 302 cause I've read many thing but they aren't super consistent and difficult to follow. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

M5OD-R2 has integrated bell housing so it can't be swapped.

M5OD-R2 needs to be from a 1997 to 2003 F-150 with 4.2l V6.
4.2l V6 has Windsor bolt pattern, same as 302(5.0l)V8

In 1997 the M5OD-R2 shifter was moved farther back on the top of the transmission so it is within an inch or two of Ranger's M5OD-R1 position

Obviously you need a 4x4 M5OD-R2 and a transfer case that fits it, so buying these as a unit would be best, but manual shift transfer case will be a hard one to find as a combo, lots of electrics out there.
