Rangebe...version 2.0

Looking good nathan!

Thanks. Got the ring gear street in place.

Cut a piece from the 50 beam, as it is 5/16" thick.

Just need to plate the bottom of the beam, and top of the truss, then the beams with be DONE. Wayyyy too much work into those beams....

damn, 5/16" thick?!?! that's crazy....looks good

should be very proud!

you have kept the attention of a bunch of people that love trucks. most of which certainly have undiagnosed A.D.D. (such as me) and you havent shown the truck in WEEKS!

this thing is gonna be killer

thanks guys.

FINALLY finished the drivers beam. I am officially done with these beams, and can get moving on my radius arms once the rest of my parts show up....Ive got a trick up my sleeve for those :icon_thumby:

For the count, the bottom, front, back, ring gear are all plated, and the whole beam trussed. This thing is SERIOUSLY beefy.

Youll notice I plated the bottom, and extended it rearward a bit extra in order to give the diff a bit of protection.

have you weighed the beam yet? have a feeling your end weight is going to be over a s
straight 60

with complete outers, including knuckles, rotors, hubs, and calipers, Im figuring right around 350-400 pounds. Thats actually 50-100 pounds LIGHTER than a 60. Remember that a 60 has 0.5" thick 3.125" axle tubes. My beams look a lot bigger than a 3.125 axle tube, but they arent 0.5" thick, so It actually works out in my favor. Plus thats the weight of a stock 60...add a truss/armor/diff cover/etc...

Well at least you kept the unsprung weight to a minimum:D

They are freakin beast beams!

haha should have no problems with rebound :D

on a side note....killed my 7th grinder so far on this project....

Those beams are getting expensive! You've spent like ~200 just in grinders!

Actually I've spent zero dollars....store keeps taking them back on warranty :D

Was going to say.....someone shops at Canadian Tire...

i cant say its the best grinder but the one in my garage that just wont die is my crappy chicago electric one. i have rebuilt my dewalt one 3 times and havent done a thing to the chicago.

Yea...my mastercraft 4.5" angle grinder was 19.99 plus taxes.....and Ive returned it 7 times, no questions asked. Sure, Id love to have a nice Walter grinder, but its hard to say no to 20 bucks for a couple years....
