I want a Pre-runner/Rock Crawler thing, because where I live we have alot of desert racing and alot of rock crawling spots, How would I build my truck to do both. I want it more on the pre runner side but be able to still crawl?

To be good at both it will take money. My advice would be to swap in a d35 and 8.8 and lift it like 4in with f250 shock mounts and jeep coils

Oh I know it takes money haha. Im going to do that swap. Im getting a Skyjacker 4" Lift. F250 Shock Mounts? Never heard of that...? :dunno:

Check the tech library, its in there. If you like the desert racing idea, might wanna look at Chevy leafs with a shackle swap... Again, tech library.

Hmm Thanks Guys! If I did the F250 Shock mount swap, Would I need bigger Shocks and Coils? or what?

the ranger shocks have a stud and the f250 have an eyelet so you need new shocks. but the benefits are they wont bind nearly as easily and they will give you more wheel travel if your coil permits it

So When I goto the Parts store look at buying F250 Shocks?
and as for the Coil if Im gonna put the effort into changing up the Shocks Im gonna swap the Coils... So do I get F250 Coils? or what?

Sorry for not understanding this. ha

why not get a dana 44 ttb from a full size. i'm pretty sure they are almost bolt on and it will widen your stance a lot. as the for the rear the 8.8 is the way to go.

if you build a good pre runner it will be good at rock crawling

no dont go full size ttb. most people who have done this said its not worth it one bit. all it does is widen the stance and thats all. i believe the brackets are all different and would take alot of modding from what i understand.

and the coils will still be ranger coils. f250 are too big unless you mod your lower coil bucket and use the 250 upper coil bucket. it would be stiff though so probably not worth it

Im getting this Lift From Skyjacker... Should I Get the 6" lift instead to help with the Shocks and Coils?

Also Im going to do The Chevy Leaf Spring Swap at the same time. Would this affect me buying the lift kit?

I plan on Swapping the Leaf Springs and Converting into the F250 mounts and then putting my lift on?

:dunno:

This is what I'd do for a go fast rock crawler.:thefinger:

i dont see where that says the height but if you want to be able to align your truck you need to get the 6" kit. and get the dropped pitman arm thats made for and 8" kit to help get your steering geometry back into factory specs. you will also need extended brake lines. (i just went to autozone and got f250 brake lines, they are the same as the ranger, but longer).

also do you want any flex or wheel travel? if so dont buy those coils. youll need either jeep or early bronco coils. the coils in those kits are way too stiff for any wheel travel

It Says it to the right of the picture. Alright, and Alright.

I want Flex and Wheel Travel. Where would I get those Coils?

Does it Matter what Order I do these mods in? :icon_confused:

get the coils from bronco graveyard, james duff, etc. or any jeep vendor.
this all takes a good bit of research and if you jump in without being completely sure you look back later at the things you shouldnt have done and better alternatives to kits and such.

idk if you have school or work in the morning, but tonight or another time just take your time and spend a few good hours in the technical library of this site reading everything that seems to interest you under the suspension area. some are complicated, some are simple, but regardless, you will learn alot by just reading some of it.
