Project SVT

Yup....badges more important than low range.......:icon_confused:

gee, how the priorities have changed.....:thefinger:

l8r, John
No, but I ordered these after the shop closed, didn't take but 10 minutes, wish the low range case took that long :annoyed:
Good one Copperhead!!
Low range, who needs that when ya think you can throttle over, through, around anything with a V8. We'll see how that works out..
I will say he's struggling with a job I landed him on another truck for low range money. I might withhold his pay from the paying individual till he finds a low range, then go pay for him so he don't get sidetracked!
Rick Sidetracked, too many projects, no way never happens!!! :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl:
I ain't struggling on that job, but it's a pain in the a$$ as you got everything in the way of everything that needs to come out :annoyed: But I guess I will just have to put off finishing that 44 swap until I get the JOB done, AND my low range case since you want to hold the $$$....Huh, just like a woman... :taunt:

Well yours ain't helping ya out with the low range, just adding more projects, clogging up the yard!

Well, its not the upgrades I wanted to do, but I had 10 minutes, and it looks kool...

Well at least one thing got accomplished on a vehicle today.
OK 2 things, we got Railman some rollers for his tire swapping going on!
After some ole Bastard forgot to pick up a rear main seal, held up progress, resulting in another gas guzzling run to Cville, overindulgence at El Torro, and an afternoon siesta!!!

That looks pretty sweet!! What happened to the famous Whitts BBQ? Although El Toro is pretty good!

Ohhhhhhhh, Now your truck is sweet, how special. Guess that's what happens when ya coulda had a V8 then got one and some flashy new emblems with no low range! :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl:

Well, after measuring for transfercases, the 4406 is 20 inches wide, outside to outside case, and that is with the trimming of tabs, if needed, its 20.75 including the tabs...I haven't measured my 1356 I have, but it looks narrower than the 56, and even though it weighs about as much as my transmission, its becoming an option as a temporary fix for my no low range Tcase blues :icon_welder: Two things I don't care for, is it's long and its a slip yoke out back :no2: As soon as I get the customers taken care of and out of the shop, I'm going to tear into doing my 1356 and turn it into my reduction box for my doubler, I'm thinking of using the 1354E for now for my tcase as I'm already set up for running that case, and when I get the rest of my parts for my dana 20 (input spud shaft and input gear and cables for twin stick setup), I'll swap that in and have my ultimate drivetrain done, well, for now

Nice badges. That'll help get you home.

I know I know, chrome don't get ya home, but it wasn't much chrome and it adds a nice touch...Well, after some more research the 4406 tcase is actually a TOD (Torque On Demand) full time with low range, meaning the front drive has a clutch pack in it...So I'm going to go ahead and build a 1356/1354 doubler setup. The 56 has a 2.72:1 ratio and the 54 has 2.48:1, combined I will have a 6.75:1, with my Tranny's 2.84 first gear, my final crawl ratio is 103.07, which is not bad considering I'm running an automatic...I'm going to go back to the wishing well and ask the help of another TRS member with my build when it comes time...My doubler setup will not be built as fast as my V8 swap, and it will take some time, but I plan to start it on monday :icon_thumby:

I like it, but uh, where's the lights to go with the honor of that emblem?? Looks more suited to be on my truck since I have the lights to go with it:D

Time to go buy a red mag-mount cherry, Starsky and Hutch style:icon_twisted:

Well, I got all the customers' rides out of the shop except for one, but that one is not a rush, so I now have time to get back on SVT...But I have to go up north thursday night to hopefully finish the V8 swap on the TJ. I'll be back on sunday night/monday morning to tear into SVT...I got plans to start tearing into my doubler, while Jay finishes my rear fenders...
