Project Primer! NO 56K

Got my tiregate just about finished other then a couple little finishing touches.

Here is how it will sit on the truck most of the time.

It will be nice to finally have usable bed space again. with my old tire carrier my bed was basically useless.

Finally got the tiregate all cleaned up and painted.

The only thing I don't completely like about it is that I made the tire stick up a bit to high. If it starts to bug me I can always take it off and lower it down.

wouldnt it have been better to mount it up on the roll bar? seems that tailgate would be awful heavy and hard to open and close.

Well it isn't too bad to open. It is a bit heavy but nothing to bad. I also plan on loosing that "roll bar" sometime in favor of a tool box

i too think it looks good....

like ya said before, may want to lower the tire just a little....

wonder if you could mount some mini-van rear hatch struts to help with the opening and closing.....they are prolly as heavy as that tire and gate:icon_thumby:

also they are mounted in a "ball and socket" so would be easy to unclip for when ya turn the gate around...

i also agree with taking the rollbar out in favor of a toolbox ( better for spares when out on the trail ).....

Thanks

I'm really starting to need a toolbox for when I am at school and I'm getting tired of the light bar look.

Well I haven't really done a whole lot with this truck in a while. I finally got windows made for the inserts on my half doors. I think they came out pretty well.

Then just some random shots with the half doors on since I never got any good ones.

Thanks, It works out pretty well so far... Some water leaks in but as long as my seats stay dry I'm happy...

yea those doors are cool, long way from that one turnsignal itybity truck you began with

Haha, Ya I know... even when I look through my build, I can't even imagine that its the same truck but then again it hardly is. the cab, frame, one fender, hood and dash are the only things i haven't replaced...

I got myself a present this weekend!
