Project Little Green Turd

Thanks! The Super Duty is getting that next. Its great stuff. I will be buying quarts next time though. The gallon doesn't reseal very well...

I bought mason jars from Hobby Lobby and stored the extras in there. I put plastic over the opening, then close and clamp the lid for extra security. Lasted about a year.

I slapped it on heavy on my SD. Frame, cab bottom, everywhere lol

Now that's a good idea. I can't tell Nicole I will be going to hobby lobby though... its her favorite store... I'll never be able to leave if I take her :icon_rofl:

That is exactly what I want to do. My parents just bought a very nice gas power washer. I will probably pull a few things off, power wash it really well, wire wheel the bad spots, and then roll on underneath. I can do this outside in my driveway, which is nice for a change. I am so use to driving an hour to get anything accomplished lol. I'll be saving so much on gas its stupid...

I did that with my dually when I bought it. I painted the back half with a brush and bought a $10 harbor freight paint gun and sprayed everything else. It worked great.

A compressor is at the top of my to get list lol... followed by a welder... and I need to work an engagement ring in there too lol

Was the paint gun one for undercoating?

Im pretty sure I found this link on this thread seeing as it says 1994 ranger and this is the only other build thread i looked at besides brinker88's.
Does anybody know anything about this? http://www.tascaparts.com/parts/199...leid=1137967&diagram=MD93640&diagramCallOut=1
You can buy a new frame for 850 plus shipping?
Are the 94 and 95 frames the same?
It says the 94 frame costs $850 for a 108" 4wd frame,
but the 95 costs $950 and is discontinued.
Sorry to thread jack, but I figured you'd be the one to ask since im pretty sure i found it here haha.

I think I did find that. I was trying to get a replacement rotted frame cross member. Anyway, I called them and they did not carry the cross member. They may very well have the complete frame. The frames are the same as far as I know. 1998 the frame changed with the front suspension.

im just really thrown off by the pricing being different between years for the same thing. i thought 91-97 was the same frame.
oh well, i can almost justify buying one, once i get the cab off and have a look at everything without scale and rust underneath ill figure it out. it just sucks, i could have a whole extra grand to spend on springs, tires, wheels, a 302, the bed, raptor grill or paint. decisions decisions.

My frame was in pretty good shape. But my cross members were another story. RangerFrameFix.com can help with a lot of the parts you'll need. The owner Dan is a very nice guy. I don't think its worth it buying a new frame (if they are even still available). Shipping would rape you unless you are close enough to pick it up.

Buy a parts truck with a good frame and use that or sections of it. You could probably recover most of the cost buy parting it out and scrapping the remainder.

Or take a look through Nathan's Rangebe 2.0 Build. He did a ton of fab work and that truck is a piece of art. He beefed up his stock frame quite a bit because he is doing a prerunner rock crawler thing. I think its going to be a King of the Hammers truck when he is done.

i need a cross member but i think were just going to make it.
i can make patches for my frame, im just sketched out on welding it.
im gonna have to check that build out for some ideas.
ive just been stagnant on this build for a couple of weeks now and leave for college august 24th :l

Cut the old crossmembers out, and build new ones out of 2x4 steel

I need to get some experience welding before I felt comfortable doing my own. Fortunately 1badexplorer parts out rangers regularly and can across one with very little rust and a solid frame crossmember.

If you're good with a welder, I agree with Brinker. Build your own. They can only be stronger than stock.

I know what you mean about going back to school. I had to wait till I graduated so I had a 2nd vehicle and the cash to do what I wanted.

Ya. I can understand that and working on your truck is a far better use of time and money :icon_thumby:

I got more work done this weekend. Front fenders are on with the fender buckets installed. New battery is in and the power steering leak is fixed as far as I can tell. I got the last few pieces needed for my exhaust system and I know how I am going to install it. I worked for a good while yesterday, but I was just so damn hot out...

I brought home some new seats I got off of 1bad. 60-40 seat out of an 03 edge. Its in pretty nice shape. I am going to clean it up this week and install it next Sunday. I am going to try and finish everything up next weekend, but I have a bachelor party Saturday night... :icon_rofl:

I'll put up a few pics of the seat later.

I just finished cleaning the seat. It's not perfect, but way better. Are these are way more comfortable than the broken bench seat. I think the bench is doing to be the new garage seat.

Anyone interested in a $20 or case of beer truck cap? It's the one in this picture.
