Project Little Green Turd

Looks good. If you are going to be up there this coming weekend I may stop up for a little again. If I can get the Bronco running without too many issues that is. It's only a few steps away from fire up hopefully.

I'll let you know and I'm going to try. Just drive the Bronco up if you get it running. Just take it across the river lmao.

Did you get all your odds and ends sorted out and brackets made?

Dude this thing is going to be bad ass when its done! Work faster! haha

I am doing my best. I want it done and I feel like I am getting closer. I wish it was in my garage but I don't have near the tools or room that I'd need.

So I was looking up the bolts I need to order to finish and I was trying to find 1/2" U-nuts, J-nuts, or Tinnerman nuts for the bed bolts with no luck. So I have another idea in mind. Anyway, I came across www.tascaparts.com. They seem to have the rotted out crossmember for my frame in stock. I found it here: http://www.tascaparts.com/parts/1994/FORD/RANGER/?siteid=213668&vehicleid=1137967&diagram=MD93640.

I don't think $60 is too bad and it will save a ton of time if they have it. I am going to give them a call today.

I am going to check when I go back. I looked closely at the full res pictures and I think it is just residue from the engine cleaner or brake cleaner I used to clean the rails. I spent a lot of time looking at that frame rail cleaning it and I didn't notice anything. But hopefully I'll get a chance to look this weekend.

Your frame didn't look cracked when I was there. Id say that the crossmember is a decent price being you don't have the time and skills to fab one up from scratch. I mean I'm sure Joe can do it but it may just be best to bolt in a new one. As far as my brackets yes it's all done. I just have to make a gas peddle, air intake tube and hook up a fuel pump if FedEx would ever deliver it that is. I'm going to do the peddle and intake tonight and hookup the 5 power wires I need then wait on my pump to arrive.

Ya. Learning to weld is on my to-do list still. I'll probably order it today. Sounds like you are pretty close on getting it to run. What are the chances it will start right up?

Ordered the rest of my bolts and the new frame crossmember. James Duff body hardware came in too. The only thing I think I still need is tube for the breather hoses.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Got work done today. Jim added a second coat of paint for me yesterday. I got the front brake lines all redone, new axle pivot bushings installed, both axle pivot brackets, both coil buckets, front shocks, and radius arm brackets on and torqued. Joey's dad also got the busted stud out of the header for me. I'm planning on going back tomorrow to change the clutch, the fuel filter, and put the front end together. Tranny will follow after I get the new frame crossmember installed. It should be here this week along with more bolts. Pictures to follow tomorrow.

The truck is back on its wheels. I didn't get to the fuel filter or the clutch today. Those will probably be next, along with the frame cross member. I need to paint the rear of the frame once the cross member is out and then put the new rear brake line on. I have to say, the Nicopp brake line is awesome to use. Easiest brake lines I ever installed. I also have to paint the frame where the cab mounts make contact. I got the new cab hardware from James Duff to install at that time too.

I got the bolts yesterday and the crossmember today. Build quality seems very good and it will save me a ton of time.

This is what was left of the lower bolt that held the factory cat to the header. This is what Joey's dad got out.
