Project Guinea Pig

Not a problem! Keep the updates coming!

K.
Old crap out, new crap laid out underneath. Took a while to gently angle grind then hammer the p!ss out of the crossmember that held the rubber bearing. Its getting a 1 piece shaft from a 99, so not needed.
One piece driveshaft (99 Ranger)

Nice to work out some frustration. :pissedoff:

While I'm under there this weekend I'll replace the starter and positive cable that have caused my non clutch grief. Glad to finally be at the point of screwing it together again. Hasn't been above freezing this week during this.
Damn groundhog.

Hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll have the disposable camera full and post some pix too. Never figured out what happened to my camera but have a bunch on there too.

Didn't get much done today, late start. Pulled the left front fender off and started on the inner fender. Should have done that to get the old clutch master and line out. Have to pick up a new line tomorrow. Its pooched.
Have another left fender to put on it when I button it back up. Its from the pick n pull. No more hideous dent there.

Supposed to snow tomorrow...

Okay I give up.
I'm throwing in the towel. Accepting defeat.

After weeks of awful weather and getting practically nowhere on this pail, I've decided to just throw the automatic in it. Its expedient.
I've been working around the weather, which like everywhere else in North America has been relentless. And I've screwed a couple things up in disassembly which make it hard to put it back as a 5 speed.
The explorer has a complete 4.0, A4LD, 1354E with exhaust still mounted and wiring harness attached and was to be dropped verbatim into the Bronco II. But having had to walk, bus or beg for a ride from an unsympathetic gf for a few weeks has left me with no real alternative and little remaining cash. So, its going auto.

Somewhere down the road I'll try once again to hang a 5 speed in there cause the A4LDs aren't all that good.
Tonight I got the 4.0 mostly ready to yank tomorrow from the Ranger. If the weather holds (supposed to be a few days window...) I hope to be pounding it back together within that time.
*fingers crossed...*

Four point oh out of it last night. Todays agenda - yank the columns from both the Ranger and Exploder and hopefully get the auto column stuck into the Ranger. Swap computers.
If theres time get the gauge clusters out of both.
Plug n play ? :annoyed:

Stupid weatherman. As of the day before yesterday, I had a 3 day window of decent (for winter) weather. Check last night and hes calling for rain overnight and flurries tomorrow. Awesome. Thanks for nothing.

Out with the old:

Send some of the rain and snow down here. We are in desperate need of rain and snow in local mountains.

I wish I could send our weather elsewhere. Y'all got a drought going on down there? My pos has been driveway bound for weeks. Weather has been a big part of that.

Weatherman changed it again - no snow. :) (http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/canada/british-columbia/surrey) Still have a window of alright weather but not this weekend. (edit: sorry for the metric weather.)
Hey Mr Weatherman: :thefinger:

Edit: Of course, its snowing again. If I'm to believe the weatherman, it'll go all day and tomorrow. Thanks Weather Network.
Today marks 4 weeks without my pickup... :lame:

This is getting ridiculous. Its still snowing with more on the way. (http://www.theweathernetwork.com/alerts/high-alert/canada/british-columbia/surrey)
I'm gonna use the last few pix on the disposable camera and hopefully, after stomping up to the mall tonight, have pix to post tomorrow.
My tarp over the Explorer came down with the weight of the snow and ice on it this morning, its heavy stuff.
This also sucks.

Damn that blows!

I'd be glad to trade weather if i could. This project is going nowhere and I'm frustrated with it.

How's the progress coming? Get a break in the weather?

Got the 4.0, A4LD, 1354E out of the Explorer over to the front of the Ranger. Was hoping to slam it in there tomorrow. Of course the Weather Network posts this:"Heavy rain to develop overnight and continue Saturday." (http://www.theweathernetwork.com/alerts/high-alert/canada/british-columbia/surrey Note: its metric. )
Bought another big tarp (12 x 25?) so I'm gonna see if I can get it sort of covered tomorrow. Couldn't tonight as the wind is picking up ahead of this storm.

If it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.
