Project 4x4 Commuter Mazda

Only reason I would switch to syn line would be for saftey or weight reduction. I don't like the cost or the risk of ruining syn line so easily. It would be blingy for sho

Make some sliders, run your winch as is (get better gloves?), replace your glass, but shop it around and find a better price. Get the lights when you have money, it wont make or break your truck for now.

My .02 cents

i'd do winch line now; since you need to address the solenoid and stuff anyways...
then sliders. since you've been dealing w/ the windshield for years anyways.... who cares?! lol. and the lights, well that's pointless compared to the other 3 things you need...

get the windsheild done first, at least where I am you can get a ticket for having lots of cracks

i have a windshield that i can install for you for $100 if you wanna drive to nevada city

$100 including the windshield and labor?

If you do a quality job, I am interested.

But it has to wait until the end of this month or early December. I don't have a pot to piss in right now. Think you could wait that long?

yep windshield and labor. i bought it for my 93 ranger put it in drove it in the snow twice and cut it up. the glass is as good as new no cracks chips or pits. i can wait till your ready.

Sounds good. I will let you know in a few weeks. Only thing is that it is a bit of a drive for me, so we will have to settle on a day when we are both free.

never saw this. subscribed. i need to see this beast when i go home. whos down for a minimeet. lol

I'll get some pics up of where I mounted the solenoid tomorrow hopefully.

I decided when I get the money (aka when my locker sells?) I'm gonna do 80' of 5/16" Amsteel Blue synthetic winch line and an offset hawse from Slee offroad or Viking Winchline. Oh and a black safety thimble :headbang:

Either before or after will be a windshield.

Steering dampener.

Then sliders.

Then fix all the damn nuances about the truck:

idler arm walkage
RA noise
righ hand turn noises
drivetrain thunks
loose steering
loose center console

Also I am contemplating putting SJ 6" in the 4" upper hols to lower the ride height a bit....to totally do away with the little bump steer I have left.

how much did the bar run you? i just picked up some of the dually leds from rigid, cost a pretty penny but damn they make some great lights.

I got my 10" bar off ebay for $344 shipped. They retail from Rigid at @ $399 plus s&h.

I want a pair of those Dually's but like you said they are expensive bling....well worth the light output though.

yup, got em mocked uptoday. ill post pics in the norcal thread

They look good. Hard to beat!

I got the solenoid mounted, wired and all the 1ga cables ran as well as the controller wires. What a pain. I hate wiring.

Much easier to wire this solenoid up versus the Smittybilt one which was excessively complicated.

Steering damper from WFO, gonna try and put it on this weekend:

Now if somebody would just buy my locker and or front gears, I could order that synthetic winch line and sliders....

people think im weird, but i like doing wiring. for whatever, stereos, lights, whatever.

Its a tight fit, but it all clears lock to lock. And since it is mounted to the centerlink, I don't have to worry about clearance issues as the suspension cycles. :icon_thumby:

I wanna tack weld the bracket to the frame, to inhibit bracket rotation around the bold. And I want to weld a small triangular gusset to the same bracket, to help stiffen it up a bit (long lever arm).

Other than that, works like a charm.
