Nice! Things are coming along nicely. I think you will be real satisfied with that ratio and tire size.:beer::beer:

No I have not....I sold my old axle though and make some enough cash to do the regearing. So either this weekend or next I will rip it outta there and take up to have it worked on.

Meanwhile, I believe my alternator to have gone bad (and taken the battery with it) yesterday.

I think what happened is that the alternator died like a week ago, and since then the battery has compensated for it (its a good Optima deep cycle) and now the battery has finally given up the ghost and doesn't have the oomph to start it up anymore.

I am hoping the battery will still take a charge (it is on the charger now) and I will only have to replace the alternator.

When that happened my ABS light came on :icon_confused: wtf lol?

i've actually heard of abs lights coming on at low voltage..so hopefully its just that...

Turns out my Optima Blue top took a crap after 2 years. Alternator is fine.

So instead of buying another, I went with a Costco Kirkland batter, 1000 cranking amps, 850 cold cranking amps, 140 min of reserve. $92 with core.

Less than half of a new Blue/Yellow Top.

With a 3 year free replacement, and a 100 month percentage honored warranty after that.

4.56's are awesome, by far the most useable gear ratio.

dam those are expensive. when mine goes, im goin to put a deep cycle marine battery in.

i thought optimas had a lifetime warranty or million mile warranty or something like that?

I'd suggest against that. B/c deep cycle marine batteries usually have a shorter warranty period compared to a regular battery, since the manufacturer assumes you will abuse it harder than a typical run of the mill.
Optima is no different. Their yellow tops have a 3 year free replacement, where as their blue tops only have a 2 year period.

Nope. See above :(

Had I not been so strapped for cash (saving it for the regear) I would have bought a Yellow Top Optima, since my Blue Top treated me and my winch very well for its short service life. I had to get a cheapie though instead.

I have a deep cycle marine in mine..

But it's the secondary battery... Lol.

I didn't know you had dual's going on?
