I'm looking to purchase a new Pro Model 105 mechanical bender from Pro-Tools along with there HSN 500 hole saw. I'm getting ready to do an Exo-cage and new bed on my 94' B3000 after a nice roll over at Wellsvile, OH. It just got promoted from DD to Trail Rig.

So the Question is: Who's Used it?? and How do you like it??

The quote i got was just over a grand$$ shipped.

Looking for ANY and ALL advice.

I have a JD-Squared Model 3 bender, which is of the same design, and am completely satisfied with it. The effort needed to bend 1.5" and 1.75" .120 wall DOM tube is well within reason.

I was actually torn between getting the 105 and the JD2 M3 and only ended up with the M3 due to a very slight price advantage when all was said & done after cost of dies, etc.

Whichever one you get, you won't be disappointed. :icon_thumby:

4x4Junkie, if i may ask how much did u pay for your JD2 M3 (ballpark) just trying to get an idea, also what Die set did you get? im new to this and i'm wondering what "radius" i think it is would be best for a cage. the options are 90* and 180*, and 5.5, 6.5, and 7.5-(90* or 180*). I think i know what there trying to say, but since you've been there if you could put it in newbie terms.

Thanks for all the advice.

just bought JD Model 3 $700 canadian with 180 degree 1 1/2 die

I have a 105 hd with i 1 3/4 die ordered i have not got it yet but orders it Tuesday.

get the 105hd, worth the extra money

yea the 105 is built a tad bit better than the big 3 for the given price

Has anybody worked with the new Model 32 from JD2 ? Model 32 plus notcher is about the same price as the Model 105 HD and notcher. So its between those two.

Thanks for all the advice guys its nice to know that when you spend a grand$$ on a tool that your getting a good product.

IIRC, it was around $650 (?) for the bender and a 180° 5.5 CLR die for 1.5" tube. This was back in 2006 though, so prices I'm sure are higher now.

i got a pro tools 105. its one of my best tools. Get the 180* die as you can still make all the same bends a 90* die would do and more.
