Sweet build man, thanks for the link to this or else I probably would've never found it.

Unfortunately for me I am selling my Ranger to get a commuter car for college (3 hour drive each day, 5 days a week) but I'll be stickin around here to watch this build. Maybe I'll even get inspired to build up a 2wd prerunner later if I have more money.

How is a 4 cyl prerunner for commuting I wonder?

could be very fun! specially if you put a turbo on her lol. I was in the same boat you are a few years ago. my 2000 GMC that i prerunnered (my first one i did and had lots of problem with front LT kit) had become kinda unreliable to drive back and forth from Flagstaff to Phoenix (200 mile drive with steep hills inbetween) so i bought the HD in my avatar. after i got rid of the GMC i wanted to build a truck so bad after all i learned and now i finally go that truck haha. of course it bein 400 bucks to buy was nice but also its super cheap to build on of these trucks if you can fab and look for parts in the right places. I think about the ranger more than i think aobut school work haha

Yea, I already have the transmission and transfer case installed along with the right fuel lines and fuel pumps.

cheater lol. oh well, i guess mine will be pretty one off and ill have lots of pride in her with all this work. its comin together fast now though! just waitin on my slave cylinder to come in and fuel tank with fuel pump and she should be ready to run when i get the wiring done.

little up date. jsut about got all the wiring done. still need to fit the wiring to the old 84 connectors so the ignition works, prayin it will all work lol. also ordering all the hardware for the 64" kit this week and recieving the gas tank, fuel pump, and slave cylinder this week. wont be workin on it this weekend as im goin to the dunes for the first time this season! WooHoo! gotta get the rhino prepped and my dirt bike ready.

well got some more stuff for the ranger. Finally go tthe slave cylinder, gas tank and fuel pump, but still gotta get the hardward for the rear leafs. i have been talkin with Dave at Threat Motorsprots and he has talked me into doin his equal length beam kit but i have to figure out how much the steering will be and shocks before i make the commitment lol.

This holiday weekend i hope to get the tranny in, wiring in the ranger and possibly the gas tank and lines for a possible start up of the truck! wish me luck!

damn its been a while but i got progress done! lol dad wanted the exploder out of the yard so i took everything out i needed for the ranger which included throttle cable, brake booster (mine dont have one), key ignition cylinder (mine was goin out), fuel lines and fuel pump for a spare, taking the ranger bed off for scrap, and swapin rear ends out. Needless to say after seaching for ever for a gas tank im no longer doin that because ill be buyin a fuel cell lol. here are some pics of the progress

7.5 is out! so much easier with the bed off

ever seen an exploder with a 7.5 in it??

how i mounted the 8.8 for now to roll it back around. gunna truss it and lincon lock it next time im down then put the Giant motorsports rear leaf suspension on

what are you using to straighten the frame?...besides heat?

a jack or something to lift up on the very back of the ranger on that part of the frame to put it back in place. i know it will fatiuge the metal but when i finishe boxin the frame and build a cage it will not be a factor anymore

That is a great looking pre-runner. I'm glad to see someone rocking the square body and not updating the front end! You'll have a lot of fun with that. Keep the updates coming!

well thank you! yeah i want to keep the old school look. i have not seen any out here that are old school like this. should have more done this weekend!

well the exploder netted me 164 bucks including the bed. would have had double that this summer but life goes on sill better than nothin!

Sick build man, lookin good. I wanna get another gen 1 Ranger and do a 4x4 build, just something mild but I might put a cage in it.

I'm real stoked cause I am starting my course in about a week. I am taking aircraft structures and fabrication so hopefully I will be able to learn a lot and build a sick truck in the future. Oh and make money working on planes and stuff which is also sick.

I just might have to do that. My dads friend will be out there checkin the race out and he gave me an invite to come out and say in his trailer so i just might have to! i hate goin though at the same time because it makes me spend more on the ranger when at the same time im tryin to save for a house lol..................................................................... eh screw it, i got a crew cab truck. thats plenty big enough for me
