Prerunner project: F.O.R.D.

so you are making the front equall wide as the back? i figured it would look silly. quick question, if other guys are running 4liter or bigger engine, how is your 2.8 gonna compete? especially with big tires and sand? that all just dont add up.

The 2.8 was swapped out for a 4.0 OHV a long time ago.

O and 84 ya the around the 19th should be fine.

Yes, the front will be as wide or a bit wider than the rear. im using threat motorsports equal lenght beam kit with dana 44 spindles and knuckles. As odie said, im runnin a 4.0 right now with a M5OD-R1 trans. its stock till i blow it up and build it into a 4.5 fire breathing monster. These things were covered in the earlier sections of my thread so you might wanna just skim through there first unless i didnt cover something :D

o i must have missed that whole 4.oh thing. theres another member on her with a bored out 4.0 all hopped up im interested to see what one can do with it. is fuel type filtered in your racing league?
if not i wonder if diesel alternatives would be something to look into as im sure wieght effects your speed on the course.
great build cant wait to see more

Fuel type is not filtered as long as that is what came in the ranger. so IIRC the little 2.0 diesel that came in some rare trucks cane be used but only that motor. No cummins b4s or anything. id presonally love to do a diesel in her cause im a diesel fanatic but the 4.0 i think will out do the diesel and its cheaper IMO. My 4.0 after is blows up will be built into a 4.5 full raced out motor with the help of my buddy and our friendly machine shop lol.

As an update and recap to the build, 9" is under it waitin for a rebuild and some upgrades, tires and beadlocks are on the rear, Ordering all the heims next week for the threat kit i have as well as the ball joints to put the d44 ends on, Will be makin the stock steering work for the moment till i can buy the rest of the front swing set steering from dave, After that rear shocks will be ordered or bought used, then ill need to get a fuel cell and move onto the cage for the truck. when the cage is finished things should really start movin quick :icon_bounceblue:
