My credo
Friend of Bill W.
Not my Ranger but Ford power steering. I understand Fords to run some 800 psi on the pressure side and 1000 psi or so with the steering locked to one side. Hence, 1250 psi or more hose for the pressure side.

However, for the return side, do I dare use 350 psi hose? I have new Parker Push-Lok hose and fittings but this turns out to be 350 psi hose as they quit making Push-Lok 1250 psi hose. I would still like to use this hose and think the pressure must be low as it returns to a vented reservoir.

The return side doesn't need to be high pressure. Its just held on by hose clamps. I wouldn't put 1250 psi hose for the return side. Heck I wouldn't even put a 350 psi hose. Its not needed. but that's me, just some good quality hose for the return and go from there. I wouldn't overthink it.

Thanks NorthIdahoTrailblazer. I figured as much but wanted some confirmation.
