i recently got a 2006 ford ranger. the guy i bought it from said it was originally a truck for a power company. on looking the truck over, i found some interesting things, one being a little silver box behind the drivers seat. it has ports on all sides, they are labeled: PW BZ, L and R, LED, L/R ON, L/R OFF etc. there is no brand name or anything except those labels, and a sticker that says EM050901. what is this thing? :icon_confused:

the rest of the labels say L/R 6', L/R 3', CL, and CR

Welcome to the Station katz! seems like what this is is a fuse or power distribution box for some sort of accessories or device that the truck powered. Well, you know what they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Welcome!
Yeah, he is right, it could be a time machine thing or something, or a bomb.... just dont hit a bump too hard.

See if you can knab a picture

Sound awesome! I wish my Ranger had a bunch of extra switches to play with.

I would also think that the box was the control for some top secret power company equipment.

what my uncle thought it was was something related to the city communications. like a CB radio, but for the company. we also thought it could have went to a computer hook up. but im not too worried about it, just curious. thanks though!

it sounds like a distribution box for warning lights. my guess is a directional warning bar, but nothing i could pull up on google with the EM050901 found anything. post up some pics if you could.

Yep, probably control box for an arrow-stik, some other lighting equipment and maybe some radio stuff too.
