Hey All,
I wanted to get some input.
Now that's it getting warmer, I'm starting to work on my Father In Law 2000 Ranger (again) so he can sell it to me.
I had a mechanic friend come over, and basically put his hand over the air intake, then flooded the throttle cable and the truck somewhat cranked and revved.
He thinks the issue isolated to the MAF, IAC, or Throttle Body Sensor, or ECM since (if I understood right) he said it's getting too much air.
I've tried 3 scanners and none can detect the computer (apologies for my terminology, I've seen it listed as the ECM or PCM).
Is there a good way to determine if the computer is at fault or should I just wrap up and haul it to a shop to have them double check?
