PlumCrazy's Build

It's still under the knife. 99 Ranger cab is mounted, EB44 is mocked up, 35" claws are mounted up, but it still needs a front clip or tube cage built/bolted up and it needs 100% rewired. But wiring should be easy, it has a 96ish base model dash and interior harness, so we just need the chassis and engine harness for a 95-97 4.0 truck

Still needs

How did you get the rims cleaned up so well where the outer and inner piece's meet? I have a couple sets of steel 8 lugs I want to redo this summer.

Sand blaster and and a brillo pad. They are far from perfect, but I think they are good enough for this POS

Went down to Wildcat Off-road Park with 036speed this past weekend. Had a good time, but probably won't drive 5 hours for it again.

Here are some pics....no particular order. Brad may have some more.

Had a whoops...

Does the whoops call for 5pt harnesses now? And looks good. Did everything hold up the way you wanted it to?

Aside from the flop it looks like fun.

Ever get much dirt in your precleaner?

No structural damage, just bent up some of the mounts for the header panel.

I probably won't worry about harnesses until I start wheeling without doors.

The stock structure and belts will hold for the slow speed stuff I'm doing.

Next rig will get some tube and probably a harness bar setup

I dump it when it accumulates about 1/4" which takes like a year.lol. It does separate water from air though

I heard tell there isn't much tough stuff down there. I was supposed to go but finances were tight.

It would probably be fun in a SXS or on a quad, but that's not my cup of tea. I like my glass and doors when its raining.lol

Im planning on an SOR trip this coming weekend if you care to join. I haven't been up there in a few years now. My buddy may drag the Mazda out too, but still up in the air.

Sxs ride local this weekend for me.
Followed by an 'extreme" test n tube for our va/wv trip.

Weekend off and then 1200 mile trip ending at ivy.

And I seriously doubt that I ever go to Southington, even if I am free.

It is almost a four hour drive for me and with that drive time I can be to the good stuff in West Virginia and Kentucky, not to mention Wellsville.

I would like to get a group together and go back to Slade

No real update in the Ranger...Took it out the weekend following the flop and beat it pretty good taking the ole lady out on her first wheeling trip.

Ended up snapping a radius arm right where the original arm met the tube. The tube snapped... Appears to have been cracked for a while and just hanging on.

So I have new tube, bungs, and arms to build/redesign the front suspension.

Also picked up a new project/tow pig

It's an ugly but rust and dent free 89 F350. Drug home as a 460/C6 truck with engine issues. Ran on 4 cylinders with a good awful knock. Was hoping it was a timing chain....but then it locked up after driving about 100' down the driveway.

It snapped the #2 rod and threw it into the camshaft breaking that into 3 pieces

So it will get a 460 long block and a ZF5....then I'll do the standard modifications. (Hydroboost, vinyl floor, tint, maybe 3/5 drop and 19.5s)

Here are some pictures...Blue on blue 97k on the Odometer. I already stripped the wrinkling tint and pulled the idiot sticks and chicken lights.

And a blue Heeler.

Also stripped and polished some F150 Alcoas then converted my trailer to 5x5.5 to run them

Looks like you have the parts to make a "hard luck trophy" for one of your events....lol.
What are the vertical arms coming off the ends of the front bumper for?

They are supposed to be lighted marker poles like a big rig to help locate the corner of the truck..I already pulled them off.lol
